The generally accepted, strong rumours are that Bernardo came to City for Pep and expected to stay as long as Pep was here. He didn’t expect Pep to stay this long. The way he got called out over his Twitter exchange with Ben Mendy accusing him of racism, the Manchester weather and lockdown meaning he hasn’t been able to travel to see his girlfriend have all contributed to him becoming unhappy. I think Bernardo is universally loved by City fans but nobody wants an unhappy player. Unfortunately, Portuguese and Spanish clubs are not awash with money.
