Jack Grealish

I'm convinced none of you actually watch a whole match and get your love for Grealish from motd highlights.

Overrated.
If you cannot recognise class when you see it there is not much I can say. The BBC highlights never give a true reflection of games, especially City.

I've watched enough Villa games to know that he's good enough for us. He'd be ahead of Sterling and Jesus on the left and capable of playing through the middle. Good age and physically stronger than Foden/Bernardo; he also has the drive of the former and the 'stickability' of the latter. My only concern is that he can sometimes hold the ball longer than necessary out wide, a failing Mahrez had when he arrived, but Guardiola can rectify that.

I think the best way to judge him was his England game, when he played with Sancho ( a £90 million player apparently?) he totally schooled him, he does not have the pace we are missing but has everything else that Pep loves including a great engine, but and it is a big but, all the above are already at City and not going to cost big bucks, if we go for Haaland/Kane we have neither the space or the money

As I say, he’s better on the left than Jesus or Sterling, so if we are buying a striker, then the question would be whether either of them are now surplus to requirements. I’m not advocating that we seek to move them on, but I have no attachment to any player and appreciate that the team needs to evolve.

Read my post again.
I have watched Grealish closely all season. Must've seen Villa at least 6 times, or 540 minutes, and i cannot recall him changing one game or scoring a match winner. His last outing was comedy gold but i'll give him some leeway as he was just back from injury.

Class is Foden picking the ball up well inside own half, turning and running the length of the pitch despite several fouls on the way, and slotting one in the bottom corner. Grelish would've been on the deck before getting out of his half.

I do, and I'm confident having watched Grealish both in the flesh against us and on TV for whole games that there's more than enough there for Pep to bring out a whole new level in him.
