Jack Grealish

How are people still suggesting Sterling has little or no end product?

Sterling is on a different level to Grealish. What Grealish is doing now, Sterling was doing as a teenager for the scousers.

Sterling has been incredibly consistent for the last 3 years. In fact, he's the only player in our squad except for Ederson who has performed well across the last 3 seasons with no major injuries or rough years. He's got 133 goals and assists (including penalties he's won which were scored) since the start of the centurions season. 133. In 3 and a bit seasons. That is ridiculous end product for someone who causes the opposition less problems than Grealish.
I really don’t understand what is happening right now, people are acting like grealish is going to be our lord and saviour. Like he is just going to come to our team and carry us. Grealish is now a better winger and more consistent than sterling who has been crazy good with us for years.

It is ridiculous how people can overhype a player. He may be good and all but please calm down.

Exactly. 85m for him is definitely not it, he just signed a new contract this year which means he is comfortable at villa.

Yeah the new contract protects both parties. He gets a nice hike in wages and Villa are guaranteed a massive fee when he goes. I'd think United and Chelsea will be in for sure, doubtful we'd get involved in a bidding war in that case.

As someone referenced above, it would be nice for the club to start making more Mane type signings rather than being priced out when they explode into world class territory. The lad Daka at Salzburg looks like one we could do fairly cheaply and for a player showcasing all the raw ability to be a striker at the top level.

I think there is a buyout clause inserted in his new deal at around £60m, that was the trade off.

So when are we going for a „real“ left winger instead of another „10“ on the wings.

Thank you. We need actual wingers, he is just like coutinho or ziyech, can play as a winger but we need a real winger not a player that would always drift inside.

I don’t get where people see his place in our team and don’t say midfield, because it is a role he literally never plays.

People ask for more evidence but that’s why we spend big on every transfer. Grealish will already go for that in the circumstances, but sometimes you have to trust your gut.

Manè is a good example, he was 1 in 3 at Saints, but you could see he had talent, somebody took a chance and now he’s 1 in 2 and fantastic. Nobody can say for certain what Grealish would be like here, but if we’re only ever going to wait for finished articles we’ll fall behind IMO.

Since you effectively quoted me I'll just go ahead and re-state that I also wrote, "I'd love to have him".

I claimed that I need more evidence to suggest he is BETTER than Foden.

I think he would be a strong fit for us.

However, would Pep play he and Foden in the midfield? I doubt it.

One will have to be a winger and Foden seems to be being pushed in that direction so I guess that may not be an issue.

Would he even start for us? Would Pep put he and Kev together as 8s like early days KDB/Silva or stick with the 2nd 8 as more of a retain possession/dictate tempo (Gundo) type of player or someone with more commitment to defending?

Also, the fee might be insane if he keeps this up, as we are beginning to see a vaccine coming into play for COVID by the spring, so perhaps clubs will feel they can get revenues up by the start of the 2021-22 season.

We do know he loves Kev which I hope is a way to convince IF we wanted to sign him.
