Jack Grealish

He's going to be incredibly fun to watch.

After the past year of having football just rammed down out throats non-stop (City alone have played 74 games in the past year), the one thing I really want from next season is just entertainment. We haven't played exciting stuff for a while and I just would like a bit more 2017-2019 style fun in our games.

Grealish will bring some of that, as well as his obvious quality.

Am I right in thinking that you weren't as enthused about this transfer as you are now? Or was it more a case of you just not seeing it happening? I'm with you btw, I think he's one of those players that will get fans off their seats. Genuinely hope we get it over the line.

I think his output (as in carries, dribbles, and pass attemtps) would be lower at City. I've noticed at City that most players not named De Bruyne tend to play a more grounded, muted style under Pep than what we'd expect from them. Workmen over showmen (Bernardo, Jesus, Mahrez, Gundogan etc). Even Foden is relatively conservative under Pep. So I think whilst a lot of Grealish's qualities would still shine at City, it'd just be in a more risk averse way.

Although when De Bruyne doesn't play it'll be a far different picture (like with other players). Grealish would be a real force then, and it'd be really nice to have a player who's a more reliable backup to KDB's creativity than Cancelo.

Funnily enough given how much I just complained about watching too much football I got on the Grealish is really, really good hype train during project restart when I saw a lot of Villa games.

Until we heard Bernardo was going though, I didn't want or really think it would happen as I didn't see the role he would have in the squad. Between Bernardo and Mahrez I think we cover everything Grealish can bring to a side, but now Bernardo seems to be on his way out it makes complete sense.

I also think Pep's going to make him a number 8.

Silva is worth more than jack grealish any day of the week
Both are worth what a buying club are willing to pay. I'm getting a bit sick of people going on about Bernardo's valuation as if they know what it actually is. If he's unhappy and desperately wants to leave should we price him out of a move? Or should we show a bit of compassion and grant him a move at a reasonable price, after the service he's given? We tend to treat our players well, I hope that continues.
