Tolmies Hairdoo, would Messi still be on the cards if we have Grealish?
Cause he has a buy out clause ?
I'm sure SWPsBack said he does. I'm sure I read that a week or so agoNot privy to that, just that reports of £100m aren't correct.

Seems odd they'd be offering him a new deal not 6 months after he signed the last one.It has certainly been the consistent talk, suggestions to why Villa would even be open to a sale this summer.
Window dressing. Basically so than the Villa fans don't turn on the club for selling one of their best assets. They can just blame it on the nasty rich club for turning his head.Seems odd they'd be offering him a new deal not 6 months after he signed the last one.
They have loads of money. Will it work? Don’t think so.Seems odd they'd be offering him a new deal not 6 months after he signed the last one.

That's my take too. New contract with higher wages but he has to remove or considerably raise the buy out clause.Absolutely. Why would Villa do that unless they don't hold the complete authority to retain him this summer?
An offer of a further financial incentive for Grealish is not required unless it is done out of necessity, in a last-ditch hope he would reject a club activating a buyout clause.
That's the beauty of this deal. Villa need to make it about money, whereas City are offering Grealish something he wants right now, a move to a bigger club with a chance to win trophies.
