Jack Grealish

I thought he was overrated. He’s not. He’s as good as any attacking player in the league.

every time I watch him this season he’s mesmerising.. he was just a talented player but he’s gone up a monstrous level these last 6 months. Everything goes through him.. I actually think he might have another bump in ability too. He’s reminding me of when Bale suddenly went from being talented but a bit of a loser to being world class. He will go somewhere big by the summer and kick on imo.
Pep really rates him aswell so that is a good thing

Something he does which no other player can do for us, or maybe they're not allowed to do, is just holding onto the ball until a defending player commits - then he drops his shoulder, glides away or gets fouled in dangerous areas.

Only players who are confident in their own ability are capable and he does it time and time again. It takes a player out of the game and drags others out of position.

He frustrates the opposition into mistakes and it's no wonder he creates so many chances and gets fouled so often.

I wish we had a bit more of this ingenuity and confidence in the side, in a way it's a bit like David Silva as he waits for the right moment to play the ball.

Sterling does it foden does it problem is our players always has 2 to 3 players around them or trying to foul them and we are not a diving club plus Grealish wouldn’t get half those free kicks he gets at ours!? Also the media would start the narrative that he is a diver and that’s his career ruined.

I hear you re media narrative.

But regarding Sterling and Foden, neither are as proficient as Grealish in this area.

Foden could be but it looks as though he has instructions to pass under pressure. As for Sterling, he might speed past one but he lacks the vision and doesn't create enough chances.

So if he kills a child drink driving is he an idiot?
I’m just saying he is a dick, he is irresponsible and he obviously doesn’t give a fuck. As such i dont want him nowhere near my club.
I’m sure you on the other hand are not a dick like him and we’re arguing over a twat like him when we could probably agree on far more
As such I will leave it now

  • Wayne Rooney.
  • Yaya Toure.
  • Tony Adams.
  • Hugo Lloris.
  • Roberto Firmino

Well at villa they would be.

Not to the club
Thanks for sharing that. My post was specifically about supporters. Do you care what players get up to off the pitch? (obviously within reason before anyone else mentions Adam Johnson)

If so, when did you start caring & why?

Start of the season I was dead against. I thought he was a tosser and nowhere near good enough.
he may still be a tosser but when I’ve seen him this season he has been more than good enough. I’ve been impressed with not only his ability but his work rate. he puts in some serious effort.

the England call up has taken him to another level. I think this shows he has a hunger to succeed. He wasnt happy with just a taste of England duty, he wanted to be a starter

I think he could be the answer to the Silva shaped hole in the midfield.

If you dont mind me jumping in......Ive already answered but i'll elaborate.....

Ive always cared. This club means alot to me and i have invested far too much time and emotion into it for me to sit back while any old wank stain represents us,irrespective of the ability in their feet.I just couldnt and wouldnt, get behind and support a player if their conduct off the pitch was detrimental to our reputation.

We arent desperate enough to need that.

Of course I don’t mind, I love the fact you’ve answered as I’m trying to understand when people first felt like that & why. I have my opinion that I don’t care, so always interested in hearing why people have opposing opinions.

Did you not get behind Tony Coton or Andy Morrison when they were at City? Or were you concerned when we bought them, but then supported them when they played?

My thinking and character in my early twenties was very different, admittedly,I had very few concerns, full stop.

But,also as i have said previously, there is a line where behaviour becomes unacceptable and intolerable, and each player has to be judged according to their individual circumstances.

With a player like Grealish, other than acting like a dick,i don't see any excuse for his choices, especially the drink driving.

I don't see his behaviour being worse than many of these gazillionaire footballers and once you start taking the moral high ground with one you need to apply that to all...

Grealish hasnt been convicted of drink driving to be fair. Though that might only be because he scarpered before the old bill arrived. I’m pretty sure he still would have been breathalysed later, standard practice after any crash nowadays where the police are involved
