Would Grealish for Raz cause a riot?

Please don't shoot the messenger

Other than Foden, none of them can play the wide left role. This could also mean Foden goes centrally in some games.
I don’t think wide left is his best position though. If we wanted wide left the way he’d play it we have Torres, Foden even Sterling. If we were to buy him for the money it would cost then I think we should buy him for his best position. That means making room by shifting one of KDB, Gundogan or Bernardo.
I confident if , and its a big if, we were to buy him then it would be in Gundogan’s position and Gundogan would move back to replace Fernandinho as Rodri cover. Can’t see us buying him as a wide left attacker.

I doubt Sterling will want to go to Villa though.
We could ask nicely.

No seriously its something iv been thinking for a while.
Grealish will leave Villa, and the hit Villa take could be hugely lessened by someone of Raz's stature.

Have we seen the best of Raz, does he fit in Peps evolving new team plans?

Just thoughts but football is full of changes

No chance Raz goes to Villa. He’d only move to one of the top clubs in Europe.

We could offer them Torres on loan.

Sterling is still in Pep's plans but it is down to Sterling to recover his form and prove he is still capable.

Yeah true, but we don't know if Pep would like Grealish in his plans.

But hey thats what threads are for....abit of debate

Absolutely not! I can't believe anyone actually thought this might even be plausible. Ditto with Mahrez. Unless they're on the sunset of their careers or have flop for several seasons then there is no logical reason for them to even consider playing there. Sterling will be in Madrid pronto and Mahrez in PSG before we could even utter Villa transfer.

Would you not consider Grealish then?

Just thought with you being on his thread and all

Difference of opinion of course. I don't think Grealish would come in straight away and slot into the midfield. It's a difficult position to learn. You have to know positionally where to be playing out from the back, to the final 3rd. He could play there in the future, but similar to Bernardo I think he'd be on the wing at least in the first season. I differ on the "best position" thing as well. I think the reason why we have a strong bench is because players like Foden, Bernardo and maybe Grealish can all play multiple positions.

Foden does play on the left, but I think he can excel centrally as well. I think we need another alternative and someone who can rotate with Foden in case he does go central. I don't think Torres or Sterling are better as wide wingers. I think they are better off inverted getting in closer to the box in their staring positions.

What I see with Grealish is similar to Mahrez. If you can isolate him he can take on the defenders and get past them by putting a cross into the box or having a curling shot into the top corner. Also with good link up play can play a ball for a midfielder making a run towards the byline.

Nope I am neither of them. So having a different opinion is trolling??
It is when you make the same point over and over, and over again.

If you don’t rate him / want him fine, but you are making it hard work to read this thread with your contrariness and negativity.

From my point of view I do think he is an exceptionally talented player who has that little bit of the X factor about him. There’s also evidence that he tries to push himself to be the best he can be. You can’t have enough of those type of players in the squad.

If Pep wants him / thinks he would improve the squad then it’s good enough for me. That alone won’t cut it, it needs to be at a value that the club are happy with.

Based on the last few years I’m more than happy to let our hierarchy make the big decisions, they’ve got most of them right.
