I’ve seen a lot of strange transfers in my time but the only thing making this one strange is social media and the number of so called ITKs particularly from the Villa side.
Nobody can say a transfer is 100% until a contract is signed but all that has happened is that City have told Villa they are willing to pay the buyout after Jack has said he wants to come.
Jack has been on holiday and Villa will have asked Jack to talk to them on his return before committing to City in the hope that they can, yet again, change his mind.
This passage of events is entirely expected by City. Jack has now had his little chat and I imagine will now sign with Villa or City.
The chances are that he won’t change his mind because he has had all this time to think about it and his agent is fully on board.
Sam Lee saying it’s delayed but on track is where I am too. He’s cautious because Jack could change his mind at the last minute but knows it’s unlikely given that the noise suggesting he is City bound is at least from Journalists at both ends while the contrary arguments are from the public with varied stories, that don’t count for anything, also at both ends.
If I were a neutral and wanted one of the above to be my club, I would definitely choose City’s position. For Jack to stay at Villa a lot has to unravel but to come to City he just has to carry on the way it has all been going…he’s right at the end.
The ball is currently in Villa‘s court and there is nothing we can do about it but if he doesn’t sign with them tomorrow then he signs with us Wednesday I would think.
If Jack has any doubts I don’t want him but I think he wants to come and no story about someone’s aunty is going to panic me.
