The Sunderland forum seems much more balanced about this story -and clearly see it as media manipulation to create a headline. No attempt by them to 'blame' city for ruining players....

They will probably see it as a player being raised amongst thoroughbreds as it was when they signed Johnson. Understandable, and true.

Apart from Ryan Giggs, Daniel Sturridge and possibly Paul Lake has our youth set up produced anyone in the last 35 years good enough to prominently feature in our first team squad?
Richards was before his injuries, personally I would say the same about MJ, but Sturridge wouldn't make our bench in a fully fit squad.

ofcourse sturridge would make our team, he was one of the leading golascorers in the league and one of the best players.

we've produced plenty of good players who could and have featured in our first team. Right now tho its almost impossible for any to come through, they have to be world class already, which only happens with game time. However teams like bayern, barca, dortmund, united still seem to bring players through into the first team. They need to be given a chance tho.

Barca and United (besides Januzaj) do exactly what we do - loan the young starlets out to see if they're good enough at other clubs once they impress in the B team/reserve team. Speaking of which, Spain and Germany's B team system, which England is snubbing (but City are supporting), gives them a huge advantage in player development.

Barca have just sent Denis Suarez out on a 2 year loan! Deulofeu was loaned to Everton. Rafinha was loaned to Celta. These are top prospects and treated exactly the same way as Lopes and Rekik with loans to carefully chosen clubs.

Plus they are in 2 or 3 team leagues, the Premier League has less margin for error. Two losses caused by playing a raw talent could be the difference between challenging for the league and challenging for 4th place here.

I don't normally buy into this agenda crap but this morning Sky online ran
Rodwell glad to be out of City
&
Premier League: Sunderland's Jack Rodwell glad Manchester City career is over
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...k-rodwell-glad-manchester-city-career-is-over.

Now they're basically running the exact same story at the same time
Rodwell in Man City warning
&
Transfer news: Jack Rodwell warns youngsters against Manchester City moves
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...arns-youngsters-against-manchester-city-moves.

That's just in case you didn't get the message the first time I suppose.

1. Some of you should always read the core rather than the titles medias have no morals nowadays its all about the buzz and profit

2. As for Jack the equation is simple :

Considering he was injurry-free and he was a starter instead of let say fernandinho " Rodwell in + city = winning the title ?" i don't think so :)

So it happen that sometimes players don't adapt to systems, weren't at their best but in case of many inlcuding johnson rodwell they should be honnest and say it clearly we don't have the level !!!! for team aiming to win a title. its simple to say :)

Total Goals 2013/14:

Aguero 28
Dzeko 26
Y. Toure 24
Sturridge 24
Negredo 23

Sorry don't buy all this, if Rodwell was injury free and able to play more than three games in a row I have no doubt he would have suceeded to a point. Indictment really against most English talent when compared to the very best they come up short.

Simple fact is ... if you are are good enough to play for City, you'll play.

There is only 2 English players that could walk into our team at present, and we have one of them already in Joe Hart.

Just idiotic, xenophobic comments from people who havent woken up and realised England and english players aren't that good at the moment.

If Rodwell made these comments, he's a fool. No one expected him to be a guaranteed starter, same said for Sinclair. But i'm sure wages had no part to play in their decision to sign for City.

Wished him well when he left, but if he has done a 'Johnson' and has no respect for a former team, then i retract my wishes and curse him that he sucks from this day forward.

24 goals is great and he is ahead of negredo and only 2 behind dzeko, if anything your proving my idea that strurridge is a top striker
