"Rodwell is the latest England star to go backwards at the champions."

Fuck off! Star? A fucking star? Really? And how is it nasty Manchester City's fault that Rodwell is a sick note? Why not mention how Rooney, another England 'star', has gone backwards in recent seasons at the rags, like Smalling, Jones, Cleverley etc? But nooo, blame it all on MCFC.

Don't forget Zaha
Clearly most of the press have

When you read the article not the headline he seems to make a decent enough point. I wish the lad luck. However, Adam Johnson said something very similar when he joined Sunderland and he's hardly made his mark there after "dropping a level"

I fear the same for china legs Jack too. Says more about the state of Young English players than the system IMO.
But AJ was doing great until he got injured, not to mention his "partying"
No one forces these players to sign, they see big club, big money and get dazzled, Rodwell, could've easily thought about his England career and stayed at Everton, won nothing with either, or tried to go to a club with a very good chance of picking up some silverware , his prolonged injuries were hardly the fault of City, when he played, he looked good, but if a club can't rely on a player to stay fit, they have to buy other players to fill his position, and with City now having one of the strongest, if not the strongest midfields in the Prem, it was going to take something special for Eodwell to break back into the team, not to mention staying injury free for long periods.

Let's just see how he gets on. I can't see that Johnson has more England caps to his name after his move to Sunderland. I always thought Roswell would come good, but his injury record is shocking, and only time will tell if he's all that.

No one forced you to sign fella!

Perhaps the headlines should read:

'Greedy Rodwell proven to have made Costly Mistake'

You got your big fucking jackpot when you left Neverton.
Not Citys fault you weren't up to the standard required and injured for a lot of the time
Keep being bitter Jack. We will just carry on winning trophies

Any young English talent thats good enough would get in the squad eg.Barkley .

Try being fit to play occasionally and you might have a chance

better still try being good enough, this is manchester city we are talking about, the elite club of the league. sure if you want games go to villa or stoke amd of course sunderland, you'll get games there alright, but you'll win fuck all, you'll never play in the champions league and very unlikely you'll be picked for your country. if thats what you want then yeh stay away from city.

It really does amaze me how people seem unable to separate the sensationalist headline from the actual words that Rodwell is quoted as saying.

Rodwell is actually quoted in the article as saying:

but just because your English and young doesn't mean you won't play for Manchester City the Mirror turn this into....

Sunderland new boy advises young English talent NOT to sign for Manchester City.....he said nothing of the sort.

This has been used by the Mirror to have another unnecessary dig at Manchester City, but of course some would have you believe there is no agenda against MCFC.....
