Jack Rodwell

Keep him for another year to see if he can have a season without injury. A season without injury and he has the potential to be a big player for us.

In front of who?

Good point..no idea

Very frustrating because clearly he has a lot of potential

I think we should loan him out, probably to Everton. No use selling him at the moment since we'd have to incur a huge loss, better to give him a year on loan, if it works out, he can be recalled in maybe Garcia's place, if not, then we can sell him next year.

Yep. The game time he would get here behind Yaya, Ferna, Fernando, Garcia is minimal. But we need 4 CM's at least. So only option for Rodwell to stay (as back up) if Garcia leaves.

Just read somewhere that there are over 10 clubs interested in our Jack.....

Two words - Bidding. War.
I bet that all offers are loan with option to buy.. I don't think anyone is prepared to pay £8-10m for crocky Rodwell.

Haha, only just seen your reply..... I agree though, bags of potential, hence the alleged queue for his services.I don't think City would entertain a loan unless it guaranteed a purchase at conclusion or.....it gave us an advantage with a player we hold an interest in.

I like Jack though, his attitude seems right,so the best of luck whatever the outcome.

I'm only now watching the Dundee match on youtube, but I hope we keep this guy. His ball distribution has been good. With Yaya's future unclear we need cover. Even if Yaya stays when he goes to ACON we would need someone like Rodwell to step in. I think he just needs to be next to someone like Fernando in the middle of the pitch. A quick DM that can cover him. I hope he gets some Cup games and can come in every so often. He being homegrown helps too. He's still young and hopefully he can develop and stay injury free. My worst fear is we sell him and he does well at another club.

I'd like us to keep Rodwell but loan him out for a season.

He shown at Everton that he was a good player and has shown in glimpses that he can play a role for us. Obviously the big issue is over his fitness but he is never going to get that run of games in our side to recapture his form.

A loan to a decent PL side would do him the world of good. Worst case scenario is that he has another injury hit season in which case we sell him for around £5 mil. Or perhaps he will have a decent season and we would get even more money for him. Best case is that he recaptures his form and starts to reach his potential. That way we will have a very good English midfielder on our books.

I like Rodwell and want nothing more than for him to be able to fulfil his potential, but everyone saying we should hold on to him based on the Dundee game.... come on. Before anyone say "It's not based on one game" it couldn't have been due to anything he did last season.

Everyone was saying the same after THAT Norwich game, and that was over a year ago.. Even if he was to stay fit for a good period of time, his playing time would be non existent, or at the very least not what he would like it to be.

If a decent bid comes in for him, he's gone imo and someone will take a chance on him as he definitely has the potential to be a great player; again in my opinion. I don't think Garcia will be sold and with him, Fernando, Fernandinho and Yaya we have more than enough in the middle of midfield and he himself will realize that.
