Roberto Mancini sent scouts to Denmark to watch the midfield schemer, 20, in action against Spain and has been told Rodwell would be a sound investment at £25million.

Bloody hell, the scout who said that needs sacking!

Don't get me wrong, I think Rodwell could turn out fantastic, but right now its all potential and a lot of injuries. £25m is the range we paid for Yaya and Silva.

Im not sure about Rodwell, he is a good young player but dont think he can push out Yaya or De Jong, they are my 2 1st choice CM all day long

I haven't a clue if he is on our radar, but if I was going to spend 20/25m on an English player, this lad would be the one!!

Maybe he has had a lean spell recently, but I believe he has the class to reach the top.

He is just a typical Englash midfielder - he'll run and run but he doesn't have the technique or passing to play a slower paced game.

So we can add his name to the 100 that have been linked since the window opened! Have changed my opinion on this guy, not needed not wanted way to expensive not better than what we have. If we are after someone to play his position we should go for Javi Martinez, a future star and world class player

Totally different players who could be expected to do different jobs in our squad...

Money aside, I like him a lot as a player and if there's an opportunity to bag him this summer, we should do it...
