Jack Rodwell

More work needed, seem to pick the ball up from the back 4 were Yaya would have usually for me. Good debut and an ideal match for debut.

Maybe for the future but de-jong for me every time, I shit myself ever time they got the ball in our third....

Yep but if we started with Rodwell and De Jong in front of the back four and Yaya further up we would be more solid, I wouldn't of started Silva because he's hardly played any warm up games. Can understand the team though think we took it for granted it was going to be easy

I know he's young...I know he's only been with the squad a few days and believe me I really want him to be a success ,as I do all City signings....but to me he looked out of his depth...he couldn't cement his place in the Everton line up afterall...so why play him when you've got a world class player sitting on the bench who plays in that posistion....dangerous stuff from Mancini and it nearly cost us a game that we shoulda walked....I hope he doesn't go down in history as yet another City big money error....I will be stunned if he starts against Liverpool.
Oh ffs are you serious? He misplaced one pass!!!! Silva missed a number of chances so did Dzeko and Balotelli. Rodwell was ok, yes he can improve alot so can De Jong and Milner but don´t call him a "big money error" because of one mistake, giive the lad a chance, I´m happy that he got to start will surely give him confidence and he´ll improve.
Personally I´m very happy with this signing, Young hungry English player who can play in different positions, wasen´t to expensive and he has certaintly improven our squad.

+1 only problem would be either Nasri , Silva , Aguero or Calito would have to come from the bench .

I hope I'm wrong....I just don't see him providing the composure and stability Barry brings to the team, and I'm a big De Jong fan,so can't see why he was risked....3 points is 3 points ,as important in the first game of the season as the last.....and alright he didn't look his best yesterday but I don't think David Silva has anything to prove regarding his quality....As I said I want him to be a success I just have my doubts.

Rodwell and De Jong would be far too defensive. In the majority of our home games we're going to camped inside their half for 90 minutes, playing both would be a waste.

i thought he was pretty poor to be honest. when they had the ball he rarely seemed to challenge their possession and was often seen jogginging aimlessly around the centre of the park. when we had the ball he frequently took up poor positions with a southampton player in between himself and the city player with the ball or, when he did get involved in passing simply played it backwards or sideways.

there were a few promising moments and it will take him time to settle so we shouldn't rush to judgement of him either as a player now or of his potential. i just wasn't impressesed at all yesterday tbh

Completely disagree. He demonstrated class and composure on the ball (apart from the obvious mistake), he knew exactly how to make space for himself in a congested midfield. He seemed to have an old head on young shoulders.

It's early days but seems a very good prospect.
