Not really, he's not guaranteed a start at Arsenal so gaining premier league experience at anothe club is a good move, remember he's only just turned 18.

So he was a first teamer at 16, but by 18 he's no longer a first teamer, yet Arsenal have got no better, and needs experience because he won't be getting it at Arsenal, yet he's not got worse? I'm struggling to follow the logic of paying £26m for a player who has yet to produce consistently good performances at a high standard and has seemingly got worse in the past two years.

Is this post serious?

Firstly at no point have i said we should pay £26m for him, Secondly Arsenal have got no better? Their currently fighting for the title, last season when he broke through they finished 11 points behind 4th. If thats not improvement please define it. Thirdly imo he has been consistently good for Bolton. Fourthly he played more premier league games in half a season this year as he did all last year so I'd say he was more of a first teamer at Arsenal this year than last.

Ok, here is where you said we should pay £26m for him:

6-8M for Wilshere? I assume your missing a 2 before the 6-8M?
Without doubt the best English prospect to come through in the last 5 years imo.

You see, putting a 2 in front of a 6 makes 26.

Secondly, Arsenal haven't got better, Chelsea and United have got worse. Last season they got 72 points. Season before, when Wilshere was apparently in the first XI:

Nope, which other english prospect was getting into the starting 11 of a top 4 team at 16?

they got 83, similar to what they'll get this year I imagine.

Thirdly, I'm sure he has been consistent at Bolton, however, you hardly hear him being raved about in the media and given that he's English, if he really was playing as well as you say don't you think they'd be going crazy over him?

Fourthly you said he was a first teamer at 16 not me:

and if he's a first teamer this season why have they loaned him to Bolton?

Errrm the op said we would get him for 6-8m I never said that we should sign him for 26m just thats what he would cost.

LOL Wilshere only made his debut last year and as you correctly say they got 72 points, as you reckon they will get around 83 this season, I will say again how have they not improved?

you said he was a first teamer at 16 not me

No, I asked which other 16 year old was getting into a first 11? I never said he was playing every week it was you who said he was a first teamer at 16 and not at 18

So he was a first teamer at 16, but by 18 he's no longer a first teamer

which is again wrong, as he played more this year than last.

and if he's a first teamer this season why have they loaned him to Bolton

I never said he was a first teamer - you did. Surely you realise the difference between somebody who starts a few games and one that plays week in week out - its not rocket science.

Wilshere is the best current English prospect, i can't think of any other current Englishman with the potential with that of Wilshere at the current moment. So what the OP is saying is that Arsenal (a team who basically over inflate all prices for all their players) will be willing to sell England's current brightest prospect for 6-8 million quid, sorry but your having laugh. I wouldn't mind Wilshere here, basically he will provide good consistent backup, lets not forget he is starting at a mid table premiership team at the moment. As for Cole, was really good in his younger days but currently he has lost that edge he had, so don't really rate him at the moment. He can't do anything Stevie Ireland can't do.
