We poached him, then someone appeared to poach him from us. Life goes on.

Doesn't appear to have the mentality of an elite player so not sure he will be missed.

This junior footballing geniuses come and go. About 1 in a 1,000 actually fulfill their potential. Lets hope out of Sancho`s age group its level head players like Foden, Diaz and Smith that become Prem stars. Sancho may end up like Morrison

Regardless of how good Sancho is, or turns out to be in the future, we need to learn from his departure rather than just writing him off as a bad egg. There are many, valid reasons why he would prefer Spurs to us at this stage of his career and we need to question whether we want to bring through players of Sancho's calibre or let teams like Spurs do it and buy them for tens of millions. It's evident that players like Sancho won't sit around and wait for first team football to happen - it's a very proactive move on his part and Campbell was exactly the same last summer.

Good luck to him, I dislike the character assassination we've seen in the past month.

I must admit the cynic in me wants him to flourish as it'd embarrass us into using our elite youth. Though with Foden making the bench recently can't help but wonder if Sancho has made a mistake, only time will tell

Well after all the pre-season, Diaz doesn't look like he'll get a look in till maybe a Carling Cup.. Foden's got Fernandinho, Yaya and Gundogan in his way.
Sancho would currently be up against Sane who's not got into his stride yet. The lad will be kicking himself.

Since when is Foden a 6?

I think his role in our side will develop into that deep lying midfielder once he gets some strength. I don't see him as an 8 personally but he'll play wherever he can fit and Peps known for changing a players perception of being 1 role all through career. Foden could be 3 positions.

Did I read correctly that Spurs had offered £3m? Are we even entitled to a fee with him not signing a pro contract?
Be funny if he went for more than Nasri! Haha!

Shouldn't have been called up for England. City twitter congratulated him.. at least we've been professional throughout this episode.

Read that he can't play for Spurs (or another side) without our permission/release.

I'd be tempted not to give it, hope to convince him back and if not we can't do any worse than what Spurs are offering at the tribunal.

City might hope that such sanction would act, in the short term, as a deterrent to others but it could prove to be counterproductive in the long run. It would put City in danger of gaining an unwanted reputation among top young English players as a place that they should avoid at all costs.

It's perfectly apparent that Sancho wants to move a) back to London and b) to a club where, in his opinion, he will get an earlier opportunity to play first team football. City might be able to reassure him about the latter (though I doubt it) but there's nothing that they can do about the former. So it seems highly unlikely that he could be persuaded to change his mind. It's also more than possible, after he went AWOL, that City no longer want anything further to do with him bar negotiating the fee and sell on percentage.

I mean if a player goes AWOL and doesnt respond to try force a move, cant turn around and expect us to be nice and just let him go which would reward that behaviour.

If he wants a move he can act like a professional, if a club submit a reasonable offer we agree to terminate it early or he can throw his toys out the pram and we hold him to his contract.

The last option is we try convince him to stay during this remaining year but seems bridges have already been burned. Shame as would liked to have seen him get a chance.

A Spurs fan thinking he should move to Spurs, well I never!
