Jadon Sancho

hows any player meant to develop only playing when the leagues sewn up ?. so if we dont win the league or its close just dont play any young player ? i mean we might win the league on the last game of the season. that is not enough game time for them to develop. we either start trusting them and giving them proper game time or the likes of foden and diaz will leave. like sancho has.

theres just too many excuses, its like some fans are scared to play them.
we bought all of those players for huge amounts of money though. they weren't trying to break into the first team from the academy. we haven't given any academy players a proper chance really, so u can understand it. he acted like a dick, but tbf he will get game time at dortmund, which would be brilliant for him and hes on the bench tonight, which he wouldn't have been at city. choice between playing for city reserves/ occasional cup game or dortmunds first team squad, id go to dortmund.

I watched him closely in games, he readily switched off when he lost possession. No one gets minutes in our team doing that. Watching videos of his behaviour does not convince me he is ready for minutes in our team.
Foden is a different argument, I am sure Pep will get him playing and fully integrated in the near future.

Like water, professional footballers eventually find their level. I read similar calls on here for Brandon Barker and even Devante Cole to be given their chances.

Good luck to Jadon Sancho, I hope for his sake he can find a level of maturity to match his undoubted skill.

The same way Stones and Sterling and Same did at 17?

All those players developed playing first team football. Stones was playing for Barnsley at 17 and Sterling was playing for Liverpool at 17 as well. Pretty sure Sane was playing for Schalke at 17/18 as well.

And Sane is playing for us at 21, and Stones at 22/23! If these youth players are not prepared to be patient and back themselves to get in our team, then as far as I'm concerned, they're not made of the right stuff, Good luck to Sancho, hope he does well, but if he is as good as he thinks he is, he should have had the courage to hang around and prove it.

So none were ready for this level at 17 despite being excellent at 19/20.

So this season they get to train with the first team, get some cup appearances and if they aren’t ready they go and tear it up at Girona like Maffeo is doing and come back ready at 19/20.

One thing I know for sure is the fact that Pep will have a better handle on when any of them is ready than any of us.

Nothing to do with 'courage'. It takes more 'courage' for an English kid to move to Germany at 17.

Whether we like it or not, there are other teams in the world & if Sancho makes it at Dortmund, he will be at a fine club & if he stars there, will get a transfer to a club as big or bigger than City.

He behaved like a twat at City, & his lack of football has probably delayed his involvement at Dortmund, but his reasons for leaving are perfectly sound & will only be brought into question when City actually start to bring through players, & use them, something we are currently one of the worst clubs in Europe for doing.
