They have tho Sanchez is now officially an inter player no fee but they take over the whole of his wages.

108M quid according to ragcafe. No way could they have afforded that without top 4. Well done VAR.

I think they would have signed him regardless of whether they finished in the top 4 or not.

It seems as though they are structuring the payments over 3-4 seasons, but as someone said, they will be pushing that overdraft. I reckon they have most likely secured another loan in place to purchase players like Spurs have and like Barca have rumoured to have done.

Does make you wonder what financial position they will be in the next 10 years. Spending money they haven't really got.

They’re improving, steadily. Bruno Fernandes and this chap make for a much scarier prospect than they were 2-3 years ago. I think we have to accept sometimes they’ll sign top players and Sancho appears to be in that catagory - if he was heading our way the place would be singing his praises!

Signing 2 players that have proved absolutely nothing apart from a couple of cup wins for that kind of money guarantees nothing there squad is still very average at best it was evident for all to see at the end of last season as soon as there first choice 11 started to get tired (5games) there form dipped alarmingly so trying to do it over 38 league games plus champs and fa cup games they are going to be fucked unless they sign 5 or 6 great back up options plus adding probably another 3 or 4 first choice options.

Simon Stones the BBC rag getting all giddy no fee agreed yet but it will be paid instalments.

That means they only get to report the first installment and no add-ons as utd's price of the transfer.
I can see it already, utd sign sancho for 50m.

(of 120m, which nobody will mention).

I see our reported deal for torres has already 'risen' to 37m, in media speak.

They’d added all add-ons together, changed € to £ and stuck a few more on top for good measure and its still a reasonable price

Sorry, but I really don't understand what you mean. What is 'raising one's ceiling'? What is 'realising one's potential to the max'?

I'm 'fixated on the here and now' because that is where I am and that is all I can measure. Sancho never said he wanted to go away to win medals, he wanted to go away and play. He went to the second-best team in Germany to test himself and play. Did he succeed? Yes. Any other comparative measurement is meaningless until their respective careers have ended.

I mean roughly the following: Sancho has the talent to succeed and become one of the best English players without being coached by Pep but with help from Pep he might become one of the best English players ever - a future I expect for Foden. Fingers crossed.

We will have the chance to compare the development of Sancho and Torres and see whether Pep can make Torres the better player.
