James Bond Films. Are They All That?

Love Bond Movies apart from when Brosnan was Bond, thought he was terrible.

Daniel Craig started incredibly with Casino Royale, but sadly ended with for me the worst bond film of all time in No Time To Die, complete and utter crap and shows you should NEVER give an actor a big say in making a movie.

Why the *uck would you kill James Bond FFS what were they thinking?
I think they were going to rest the franchise for at least a decade by doing that. But money talks.

Bond is a huge brand and the studio executives want more money. The greedy cunts.

Will he come back alive in the shower in the arms of Vespa?

Was his death just a terrible nightmare?

There was a ship on route to the island and it was equipped with a revolutionary matter-transporting machine that just managed to get close enough to save him before he was blown to smithereens.

Fleming wrote enough crap to make that believable so why not.

Had to Google who he was but judging by his age I guess we’ll be going back to the start again, or even some sort of origins story of Bond’s time in the Navy.

The actor is always going to be ~35 when they get picked because they want to get 4/5 films out of a bond and these days the turnaround is going to be 4/5 years a film.

I like Aaron Taylor-Johnson (That's going to become ATJ in every paper by the end of the week) but can't really see him as Bond.

Good actor. He will do the role justice. Glad he’s got it rather than the cliche choice of Hardy.

To be fair, NTTD was 2021 and was in development for 5 years (admittedly with a 1 year delay because of covid).

So if they announce the new Bond in 2024, quite likely it won't be released until 2027 or 2028 which will be the biggest gap between films since the series started.

Hardy would have been great 15 years ago when he was on his comeback doing Bronson, Warrior, Inception, Tinker Tailor, RocknRolla.

But he's way too big a star now and way too old.

Same with Cavill.

Usually nearer 40. Only Connery and Lazenby would be younger for their debuts. This new fella is 34 this year so, say, 36/37 by the time of release but he isn’t as craggy looking as Daniel Craig. Probably gives them a chance to show some background to the character.

I enjoy the Bonds and some have been great, some shit. I like the idea of new people creating new ideas. It’s all about the writing and directing, with a strong cast. Keep that to a high level and quality movies will be made.

What's craggy looking? I've never heard that before. Is it as his surname is Craig.
Ive honestly never heard of the next double O. I had to google him.
