James Bond Films. Are They All That?

The 24th Bond film called 'Spectre' is about to go into production, is this one Bond film too far?
Is it just me or are Bond films not as good since the days of Sean Connery?
Having said this 'Skyfall' the last one took a Billion at the box office and was nominated for various awards so what do I know

The Bond film franchise will be good or bad depending on the quality of the film - there's nothing preventing such a film from being extremely good, nor, disappointingly awful. I've enjoyed all the Bond films I've watched - but none are especially good.

I don't see this version being as dark as Craig's

What's craggy looking? I've never heard that before. Is it as his surname is Craig.
Ive honestly never heard of the next double O. I had to google him.

Same as rugged looking which is a good fit for a James Bond actor I think.

Goldfinger, The Man with the Golden Gun, and Octopussy rank among some of my all- time favourite films. But the franchise does feel like it's dying; now that it's at a crossroads, I'd love for them to make another set in the 60's, in homage to the classics.

Personally, I always regarded Bond as a character set in the post war, Cold War era. As the series moved and matched with the times it became less, thrilling' with the implausible gadgets and no real sense of tension.

The later films are okay, GoldenEye was great, Skyfall was superb yet Craig wasn't a good Bond imho, so it'll be interesting to see what they do going forward. It's not like we haven't had period films regarding espionage either.

Don't know never watched one all the way through. When I've been forced to watch one I fell asleep after about 10 minutes.


And OK I shouldn't have contributed to the thread if I haven't seen them but hey ho, I'm feeling rebellious so sue me!! ;-) Or of course I could do a Katie Price and never turn up for court appearances and get away with it!! ;-)

From a woman’s point of view and for me, Daniel Craig (and he is craggy looking, by the way) might be a good Bond but he’s hasn’t got the looks of say, Timothy Dalton or Roger Moore (both good Bond’s in their own right), Dalton, mean, moody, good looking, Moore, charming sophisticated, ooh, everything. I hope they pick someone decent for the next one and don’t go all pc on us.
