West Brom are a football club based in England not the British Army.

He believes the British Army killed innocent civilians in his home town but has no problem playing for West Brom.

Guinness is a big brewery based in Ireland not the IRA.

I believe the IRA killed innocent civilians all over my country but I have no problem drinking Guinness.

You might have to educate me where the hypocrisy is here.

What gets me is the Clubs that employ this thug, they put him out on the field when every other player is wearing a poppy and he gets dogs abuse.

Surely they should just leave him out of the squad when poppies are worn.

JUst seen McLean is being interviewed on football focus. Having only just switched on and then over for City match just wondering if he has been asked about the standard of fouling/ tackling and refereeing in the premier league...

It’s the same principle.

I can understand McLean's stance regarding wearing a poppy if he supports the idea of a single (I refuse to use the U word) Ireland. In fact I too believe that Ireland should one country.

But his thuggery on the pitch is a completely different matter. He is a dirty bastard, whose only apparent reason for being on a football pitch is to maim as many opponents as possible.

However, it shouldn’t be overlooked that he was not the only thug masquerading as a footballer in that West Brom team on Wednesday night. Claudio Yacob has twice in recent seasons ended Spanish Dave's game early.

I hate Yacob more than I hate McLean.

He is being investigated by Stoke City and The FA after he described some Stoke fans as being"uneducated cavemen" after receiving abuse for not wearing a poppy on his shirt during the home match vs Boro.
Personally I would never think of any Stoke City fan as an uneducated caveman. However if young Jimmy had described most Stoke City fans as six fingered,oatcake eating,sister shagging Neanderthals,I would have completely agreed with him.
