James McLean

Wonder what his stance is on paying taxes on the money he earns ,part of which goes to the British armed forces ?
We all have to pay taxes.

He has a choice to or not to wear a poppy unless his employers take different view, which i dont think they can.

You may disagree with his standpoint but he has the right, i believe, to act in this way. The poppy is about choice, respect and remembrance. His background speaks for itself.

Don't think it helps him as he appears an unpleasant fellow.

Is Matic scrutinized as much as james mclean?

I'm Irish and I've a problem with the guy being a hypocrite.

If you feel that strongly about it, pack up and play in the league of Ireland.

Happy enough to take a wage from England, aint he?

When were poppies introduced onto football shirts. I don’t recall it in the 90’s and early 00’s but my memory is pretty shit.

Has it always been done?
Dont know exactly but I'd say about 10 years. It does seem to have become a bit of a fashion accessory these days, and the big fuss we have every year with England now is a new thing that only goes back 3 or 4 years. I'm not even sure everyone with metal badges and more permanent poppies even contribute every year.
