James Milner

A player that gets talked about more than any other when we are not playing well.....a player who hardly gets a mention when we are....

Mr average.

Unfortunately he simply doesn't have enough to his game to be first choice starter for a championship winning side. I wish he did because I like his attitude but defensively we have better players and he isn't anywhere near as creative as silva, nasri etc so he has no real role within the team - other than being there as a squad player to step in when needed. Although his performance on Tuesday would suggest he isn't willing to do that. C'est la vie

Very disciplined player who puts in the shift and rarely gives less than a 7. We need one or two players like this when the rest of the midfield and attack are flair players who are certainly capable of fantastic performances but equally likely to be anonymous. Would like to see him play a few games with Maicon bombing ahead.

Always liked Milner, he always stay's in the background BUT always gives 100% and always turns up for his shift.

Milner is currently mirroring his ability. All of our midfield players are fit so he should be no where near the starting 11. Great squad player to have and want him to stay for a long time but you don't play him when others are fit.

new on here so only just read post, but couldn't agree more, i really feel gutted for milner, when we signed him i thought he would just come in for barry after a while, younger quicker more energy, but can't understand what there doing with him, then the other night when he played the 2 kids in middle and had him wide again i couldnt get my head round it, i even spent money to ring my dad whos on holiday in boston to tell him, im saying we got 40million worth of centre mids there in milner and rodwell who r never going to play there in his 1st 11 both dont need a rest and he STILL didnt play him in the middle now we out of cup, surely thats why you have that squad so you can still pick a strong team in lesser cups, to be honest im getting fed up with mancini

To be fair though, Milner was injured for a spell. Something with his foot, I believe?

I like the lad and rate him as a player but hasn't he been struggling with a toe injury?

Anyone at the game notice if he went out to warm up along the touchline?

Mancini won't put him on if he's injured.

I've said it alot of times and I'll say it again. James should be given more chances to play with Silva. The interplay they had and the understanding was phenomenal and didn't just happened at United, I remembered they did the same again somewhere last season.

Fact is, for a player like Silva, ball retention is a piece of cake, even with huge bulky asses knocking at his back. Silva is amazing for his vision, incision and killer passes, he can spot these pretty easily. All Silva needed was a hard-working, positionally-intelligent workhorse who would make the runs and links for him.

This man is Jimmy Milner.
