James Milner

got only something like 11 prem starts

he is better than that had a couple of poor games but for me done well when selected.

A more intelligent manager would have have given him more game time

He started 9 PL games this season. Was a sub many more times so he is involved, but mostly as a sub.

Its pretty sure he wont be used more than this next season, especially if a new att. midfielder/winger type player will come in (like Muniain or someone else).

Criminally under-utilised.

Should start the big games away from home instead of Nasri on the left, would be more effective than Garcia/Rodwell/Demichelis et al when either Yaya/Fernadinho are injured, in the centre.

Don't understand why Pellegrini doesn't seem to rate him.

Maybe what goes on in training isn't what he wants to see. I doubt it with Milner though as I would expect him to be just as committed.

Maybe it's more to do with our win percentage when Milner starts which I believe isn't great.

Perhaps he understands his limitations

Or takes him for granted

I haven't seen any reason to limit his playing time, every time he plays he leaves the pitch as one of the most influential. Perhaps our management team too have limitations - persisting with 442, not being able to adapt, not being able to get the players out of first gear, not being able to do basic maths, etc ;)

We've averaged twice as many goals when he doesn't start and almost a point more per game, so I'm not sure he really has been underused
