James Milner

I hope he signs a new contract, he's showing how important he is to us. He was fantastic today and has been pretty good all season.
Sign your contract James.

i hope he signs too. its a funny game cos i thought he was poor, by his standards. his desision making was terrible. have to cut him some slack though because his workrate never drops. love him.

Its a must needed player to sign i cant see him not signing it as he must be playing more regularly than he has ever since he signed for the club. Think the club are slowly getting things sorted with Hart contract more than likely Milner will be next he will be key to us over the next 2 months.

Shame he didn't put the volley in. That would have been a candidate for goal of the season.

Although the penalty was,to put it mildly, very weak.....the argument that 'it isn't one because he doesn't make a bigger deal about it' is a nonsense.

If a player pushes the ball ahead and is then taken out then it is a freekick.

When a keeper makes contact to bring down a player who has pushed the ball ahead then if in the penalty area, it is a penalty - however soft, and most are given often with red cards. Defenders seem to be not as penalised as keepers.

The laws of the game are to give protection to the player in possession which is why we have the concept of foul play.
Jakielka had the option of holding off or risking going for the ball. He gambled and lost, taking out Milner. Clear penalty.

The problem lies in weak and inconsistent refereeing.

I like Milner, hope he signs a new deal & stays. He's been one of our most consistent players this season, he's nearly always an 8 out of 10. He's had maybe 2 games all season where he hasn't been fantastic. He's a lot better player than some give him credit for.

Not sure what the delay is with the contract. His gripe was not playing enough yet this season he has played loads and still not signed a deal. Maybe it's not about playing time at all and about money as it usually is.....

You left out the possibility that City don't want him long term and are currently using him like they using Lampard.

(I mean 'using' as in making use of.)

Starting to worry about him signing a new deal at this stage. Get it done City.
Hard to get it done, when Milner seems reluctant at this point in time to sign. City have offered him new deal already in the summer, according to reports.

Don't know what is the problem, is Milner then unhappy with the terms offered by City and wants more? Because he is clearly part of the squad and gets good amount of game time and starts big matches, yesterday against Roma, against Chelsea in September, against Bayern at home.

City wanted to make him an offer at the start of the summer, but he flatly refused to speak to us. Since then the club seem to have changed their stance slightly as Milner said himself the other week that he hasn't heard from the club about a new contract but wants to stay.

I think he will sign the contract be shocked if he doesnt to be honest. I just cant see him not if he wants to be in a squad going for titles and Cups and playing champions league football regularly then he should resign. I just think it would be a back ward step if he did leave who would he go to that would have a chance to compete for titles. To be honest if he wanted a fresh start and try playing in a different country I wouldnt blame him but dont see any reason why the deal cant be done.

Very close

Really? Great news if so.

A decision needs to be made this transfer window hopefully get a new contract signed or get him sold to the dippers.should not be allowed to run his contract down he is a £15 m player that we risk losing for nothing
