'Overpay' for Reus and try and get Khedira on loan. They owe us for Adebayor

How do you overpay for somebody with a £20mil buyout ?
You know you're in a thread called "January transfers", right? The buy-out clause doesn't kick in until summer.

Also, teams can still overpay in the summer, by offering a huge sign-on fee.

But Reus wouldn't join a team he didn't want in January when he can have his choice of clubs and signing on fee in the summer. The ball is very much in the players court.

The Citizens are looking to build their own version of the Koemans and De Boers...

Holland have produced their fair share of football brothers over the years, from Erwin and Ronald Koeman through to Frank and Ronald de Boer and if everything goes to plan for Manchester City, another top pairing could be coming to the Etihad in the near future.

The Citizens are rumoured to be tracking Feyenoord defender Terence Kongolo ahead of a potential £3 million January bid for the highly-rated youngster who can play at either centre-half or left-back and was included in Louis van Gaal's Holland squad for the World Cup.

Little wonder then that the Manchester United manager is being linked with a mid-season move for the player, though City do have one ace up their sleeve in the pursuit of the 20-year-old – his brother players for them.

Just 16, Rodney Kongolo was snapped up by the Citizens after earning rave reviews as a youngster with Feyenoord and on national team duty with the Holland under-15 side.

Dubbed "the new Vieira" the midfielder remains some way off breaking into the City first team, but with any Sky Blues deal for his brother Terence likely to see the older Kongolo remain at Feyenoord until the end of the season, the future is looking Oranje for the Citizens.

While Rodney comes highly regarded his brother is certainly no wallflower, having starred for the Dutch under-17 side in the 2011 UEFA Championships, with Holland going on to win the competition.

The elder Kongolo came on for Dirk Kuyt in the final few minutes of the Netherlands' 2-1 win over Chile in the group stage and with the ex-Liverpool favourite now retired from international duty, there is space in the national side for the youngster.

Best deployed as a full-back, where his crossing and overall passing ability can best be demonstrated, Terence Kongolo's arrival could signal the start of even bigger things for City.

And that's before we even get to the small matter of there being a third Kongolo brother. Still in his teens at Feyenoord, Fidel Kongolo could one day follow in the footsteps of his siblings with a move to the big time.

Manchester United, in the meantime, may have to make do with the Keane brothers

That last line is a beauty!

City 'til I die said:
I would love to see Sami Khedira arrive from Real Madrid. With Lampard only a short-term deal, Khedira would be ideal to compete with Yaya, Fernando and Fernandinho. At 27, he isn't old and he can't be a bad player to get in the Real Madrid and Germany teams! He would be quite cheap too considering
he is out of contract next summer. Hector Herrera is another player linked, but I don't know much about him TBH.

I would also love to see Reus join, who apparantly has a buyout clause. Barkley also, but that will be expensive so more likely to happen in summer window. Ricardo Rodriguez would be good too, but I can't see Kolarov or Clichy leaving in Jan

<a class="postlink" href="http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/10/31/hector-herrera-5-things-to-know-about-manchester-citys-new-targe/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/10/ ... new-targe/</a>

Look quality judging on those few facts! And it would be nice to just piss off Rio!

Who knows what will happen in January if we sell Nasty for a couple of million we might well try and sign someone in that window. Who we sign god only knows but all the big deals wont be done until the summer. Is it only me who thinks Barkley may well be a season or 2 too early to come to the club. I look at Everton and this season I have been impressed with McCarthy looks to have improved again. I can see him moving onto a bigger club sooner rather than later.

be
McCarthy is a cracking player but its creativity we are particularly short on.

I'd be looking for players of that ilk,and maybe a left back if quality is available.

Isco is a huge upgrade on Nasri,he'd certainly be high on the wish list but he's looking like a favourite at RM unfortunately.
