January transfers

We need,at least.......a left back,a creative midfielder, and a wide man who can cross a ball.

Whether these can be found in January is a big ask but we need to try.

As for next summer, major surgery is needed. We are employing far too many players that have stagnated or have never been good enough in the first place. We need to balance selling our deadwood with splashing the cash and also promoting our most promising youth talent.

The question.... come next May,will Pellegrini still be the man responsible for overseeing such?

I'm anything but a knee jerker or a Fifa fan boy but the only players I'd keep for next season are...
Hart
Zaba
Kompany
Mangala
Kolarov
Milner
Fernandinho
Yaya
Silva
Nasri
Aguero
Sagna

The rest can be upgraded.

If we can get Clyne then Sagna can go.
If we get good offers for Yaya or Nasri then both of these can leave as long as quality replacements can be bought.
If we bought Kurzawa or Rodriguez then Kolarov could leave.

I'd say Fernando should be kept, but agree with the rest of your picks.

However we all know that we can't afford to change all these players in one go, but like you said if it was FIFA or fantasy manager then,.....

Since we won the league in 2012, we haven't bought a world class player IMO.

Chelsea have bought in Hazard, Costa, Matic, Fabregas, Cortious, Oscar.

Arsenal have bought in Ozil and Sanchez

United got Di maria, Falcao,

The best player we got was Negredo, and now he's gone.

It's not about quantity or youth, it's about buying just 1 or maybe 2 players who'll IMPROVE the first team.

Major overhaul needed, at least 6 new faces required, so while we are all playing fantasy manager

................................Hart................................
Zabaletta........Kompany......Mangala.......R. Rodriguez
.......................Fernando....Pogba..............................
Reus.........................Silva.............................Milner
...............................Aguero...................................

...............................Willy.................................
Clyne..........MDM................Pique...............Kurzawa
..................Fernandinho......Khedira.....................
Nasri.....................Barkley.........................Navas
.............................Jovetic...................................

Bring up from reserves/ back from loan:

Pozo
Zucculini
Lopes
Denayer
Guidetti
Iheanacho

Sell:

Yaya
Kolarov
Clichy
Boyata
Sagna

Sagna? He'd be the first one to go for me.

Willy
Nastasic
Boyata
Clichy
Fernando
Yaya
Nasri
Navas
Jovetic
Dzeko

Decent offers for any of these and they can go, I think next summer we need to pull the squad apart and start again, with 433 in mind, Reus is a must for the left side spot, and time to target other world class talents like him. It may only be possible to get 3-4 players like him, but quality over quantity I'm afraid, then we can start to complement these with 2-3 EDS players (Lopes, Pozo, Denayer?). The whole idea of signing players to improve the squad, whilst allowing the first 11 to stagnate, is bollocks. In the meantime I'd like another striker in January.

No more world class than Fernandinho or Negredo.

I agree though, we needed a world class signing this summer.

Since 2012, we've missed out on:
2012: De Rossi, Hazard, Van Persie
2013: Pepe, Isco, Cavani
2014: Benatia, Falcao

It's the time for a massive overhaul, we have an old ageing squad, many of whom I now firmly believe are past their best.

I'd love to see us make a huge statement this summer, giving the middle finger to Uefa and FFP.
