Needs to bulk up a fair bit for this level which he will do as he plays and gets older. Needs to find the balance of going tight and standing off players.

I agree with that. I noticed in the Dundee game that he went shoulder to shoulder with their striker and found it difficult to compete in one particular challenge.

I am watching a replay of the Maribor game (second half) and he has played well. Considering he was playing in our EDS team it is a quantum leap to play before a full house on the continent. So all in all it has been an amazing transition for him.

I hope he grows a couple of more inches and bulks up, because he is skilful on the ball, and brave going forward, so he has some very good attributes. Its certainly going to be fascinating watching his development this season. I have always been a believer that it takes some years to develop as a quality defender, so Jason has time on his side.

Given his physique,i'm wondering if he may end up a fullback?

Either way,his future is bright.
CB surely? I can see a young Kompany in him.

I'm sure that will be the case, however,he is a tad on the ickle side, which is my only reasoning.

He's 6' 0" and only 19, plenty of opportunity this season to bulk up a bit.

Loads of time for bulking up. Look at Ronaldo at United when he signed as a 19 year old. No way near as big as he is now.

Rekik bulked up hugely in his first year in professional football, I'd imagine Denayer will as well. I wouldn't be surprised if it took both him and Rekik another two or three years to get to their proper size and get used to using that physique to it's fullest.

He's only just turned 19 so hopefully a couple more inches in height as well, although, given his other attributes,it wouldn't be a major problem if he doesn't.

By the time he's 21,i think he'll be a very useful and versatile option.
