I'm more excited about the idea of Denayer and Lopes being brought back into the squad, and perhaps one or two of the EDS actually getting games, than i am any new mega money signing.

Will he count as club trained home grown from this summer ?
I dont thinkso, didn't he join in 2013.
Thanks, I guess it will be the summer after then , isn't it 3 years before the age of 21?

Yes, I think he will qualify as a club-trained player, because he will have 3 seasons registered with City before his 21st birthday (loans elsewhere doesn't count I think). At least that's how I recall the rule.

So he might replace Boyata in the CL squad for once. :)

He'll be U21 still and will have been here 2 years, so by my reckoning won't need registering for the main CL squad, or PL squad. A squad freebie, same as Lopes.

I know, I was referring to his long-term status, when he reaches 21. He would count as a club-trained player, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Could he really be a possibility as 3rd choice CB next season? I know its a risk but if we can recover our scoring form perhaps it won't such as issue.

I could see him as sort of joint 3rd, with someone like Demichelis, as you'd want an experienced option as backup as well. Otherwise when Kompany inevitably breaks down we'd be left with a very inexperienced combination.

that was my point, I really don't see Demi staying next season, boytata is almost certain to stay b/c of being the only club trained player. And keeping in mind that Kompany will likely miss a third of the season too.

Do we get a new CB (someone who will probably end up playing an equal amount of time as Kompany and Mangala due to the former's injuires), or promote Denayor even though he is very inexperienced (but by keeping him as third choice we won't be slowing his development because he will get plenty of game time)?

Because if he is to be 4th choice, I think he'd be better of being loaned and playing week in week out.
