Javi Garcia (continued)

I think he probably feels like he's actually part of the team now. In the past, he'd play a cup game, then sit out for a month until the next cup game. He's involved in more or less every game now, in some capacity. So he's clearly responding to the trust that Pellegrini has in him. I'll never rate him highly, but at the moment he's not doing much wrong. Fair play to him.

Spare a thought for the boo boys. With all the traditional whipping boys playing well, the team winning there's not a lot to moan about at the moment.

Playing well, he's winning me over and I hardly wince now when he's in the starting line up. Keep up the good work and keep those crunching tackles coming in.

I have long argued his worth and its nice to see others appreciating it too.

The round of applause he got from the blues at West Ham will do wonders for his confidence and its growing and that can only be a good thing.

He is no world beater of course but as and im loath to quote him here, Cantona said "every team needs water carriers" We need players who will allow our special talents room and safety to play. Javi wether you like him or not allows ours to wreak havoc.

There was a point in the game, when Garcia got into a position in the opposition 3rd and crossed the ball. Don't think he has ever ventured into those areas before. Seems to have a lot more confidence now.

Turning out to be an important squad player, giving Yaya and Fern much needed rest.

I think he did it twice... which I have to admit surprised me greatly.

yes noticed that too, played well again and as always down to confidence, I also thought Boyata played well albeit aganst a poor side, but after Blackburn game did not think we would see him again but glad to say had a lot sounder game.

Back to Garcia, great to see him getting games we know he lacks pace , but he is good in the air and can pass , fits in nicely when he plays in a strong team we have only really seen him surrounded by 'squad' players and in a team that has lot of changes, played well against Cardiff Saturday.
