Javi Garcia

Garcia has actually stepped up a level since Yaya left for the ACON. This is what was required and the more games he can get under his belt the better he will be for it - and the team.

Very strong game yesterday. I'd have liked to see Jimmy Milner or Rodwell in midfield

We need players who can join the attack with late runs, and both Barry and Garcia are sitting midfielders.

Garcia's reading of the game, passing, tackling and heading is just about as good as you can get.

The more I see this guy play the more I find myself saying ''We don't need Yaya anymore''

Hahahahahaha. Good one.

Agree with a lot of what you say hg and i know you know your football but on Javi, i disagree.

I think the lad is doing ok and will be much better for having this season under his belt.

I felt he was not needed yesterday.

He's actually not needed for any game at home, against 90 per cent of Prem opposition, when selecting both Garcia and Barry smacks as overcompensating, defensively.

Would have preferred to have utilised Milner's workrate and drive through the middle and brought Nasri back in.

He's a very good player, but not sure the mix is right when you have Barry and Garcia in the team against a defensive team.

We need pace in the team, and players to join the attack from midfield. Ideally I'd have one of barry or Garcia.

^^ This, especially when opposition is not even in the top six.
Still feel that there is more to come, particularly in the GF column
4 out of 4 clean sheets in 2013 is very encouraging.

I'd agree but that's not Garcia's fault.

Garcia is improving but still has work to do to make the game does not pass him by when he is defending.

That was a perfect Mancini game. Score early, put the game in your hands, completely shut out the opposition from then on. May not be the best for the fans but points win prizes.
