Let's be honest for a moment. Garcia isn't good enough for where we want to be. Chelsea never exposed him sunday but that had more to do with them been shit rather than Garcia suddenly becoming a world beater, He's a likeable lad but his lack of pace is always going to be an issue( his stint at centre half was scary to boot). Rodwell is more likely to be the future.

Oh FFS, why were Chelsea shit, why was he never exposed. He always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. Fuck all to do with pace
We should have stuffed the cnuts by 4 or 5. He's getting a chance now because of Barrys "injury"(although it may well have been his calamitous performance against southhampton). He's an ok player nothing more nothing less.

As a DM shouldnt he be praised for the 0 and Attackers questioned because it was 4 or 5

And i see BMs obsession with pace is alive and well

If you all love pace so much why dont you spend your cash watching this.

Improving every game I see him in. Give him a chance, has good quality on the ball and good awareness of the game.

The lack of pace is the issue, when play is stretched the opposition just breeze past him. The only way I'd keep him is if he's going to be the only very slow player in the team, no barry/Garcia combination unless we play a very very pacey back line and press high up the pitch.

Utter tosh.

Right.......

Glad you agree. Garcia has pace over 20 yards. That is all a DM needs. Only Richards, Kompany and Cliche at the back have more pace. More important is vision, intelligence, the ability to head the ball (especially at corners) and excellent passing.

Nastasic I think is also quicker, possibly Barry. Milner I would say is as too Rodwell the only player who is as slow or slower is Lescott. Garcia has strengths but when he's part of a lineup that lacks pace at the back like against Southampton and Liverpool we struggle (not saying Garcia was directly at fault for us not taking all the points in these two games). It wouldn't be such a problem if the back line contains Richards, Kompany and clichey with yaya next to him in the midfield. But for one reason or another we haven't really been able to do that.

"Not blessed with great pace - good reader of the game - stays relatively cool and calm- decent passer - improving all the time"
Descriptions of both Nastasic and Garcia - but one of these is praised to the skies and the other gets a consistent pasting on these pages !
I don't get it

When has his lack of pace been an issue this year (since he came back into the side)?

We've conceded five goals in that time. Two against Liverpool, where I admit he should have cleared the ball before it got to Sturridge for the first, but that had nothing to do with his lack of pace, and Gerard's was an unstoppable thunderbolt.

And three at Southampton, where let's face it, the whole team was terrible and Garcia was playing as an emergency centre-back.

So, please produce evidence that proves that Garcia's lack of pace has been an issue.

If all you can resort to is photoshopping, I think that proves my case.

He has improved quite a lot, to be fair, but the story is that he doesn't like it here and wants out anyway, either back to Benfica or Spain.

He had a pool table made to look like his City shirt so that seems hard to believe, not saying you're wrong though. What's the source? It'd be a shame if he went, I truly believe he could be world class (please no-one mention pace).
