I cant get Samaras out of my mind when i hear comments like that ;)
nothing to do with being an english football fan to be fair, i just like the chaos factor in control in anythingThat’s the inner English football fan in all of us.
The fan that needs a midfielder to stick his foot in and get physical when things aren’t going well. The ones that took years to warm to Gundogan and Mahrez because they didn’t get angry and show they cared enough.
Some diamonds stay in the roughI cant get Samaras out of my mind when i hear comments like that ;)
The great thing about the set-up now is that Haaland occupies both CBs so the wide players get 1 on 1 with the fullbacks all the time now around the edge of the box. See Walker in both games so far this season. I think Doku has been selected specifically for his ability to thrive in that kind of environment and I think it’s the first time in a while where I feel like we’ve had a genuine “Plan B” in those tight games. Fortunately our Plan A is pretty good!Get the feeling from other posts that this is the kind of player who will unlock doors but will also lose the ball frequently as a result. Not dissimilar to Sterling. It’s risk-reward, and we’ve become so accustomed to protecting the ball at all costs that our fans are easily frustrated at players who are willing to lose it. Palmer is also one of those types of players.
I imagine Pep will try and coach him on how to pick the right moments in games.
Still if you ask other teams about the prospect of facing City and a player that will tilt at you like Doku… I think they would dread the prospect. In the same way I hated when we played against St. Maximin or Zaha. It’s a great ace to have up the sleeve when you need to make something happen.
Perhaps you’d prefer Klopp-ball then.nothing to do with being an english football fan to be fair, i just like the chaos factor in control in anything
Which is why the thought entered my head as he’s not a 100% Pep player, unlike Kovacic and Gvardiol.
not really, i just know that control doesnt always work and a little chaos can change thingsPerhaps you’d prefer Klopp-ball then.
