I wouldn't be. De Jong is still young, let Mancini work with him for a whole pre-season and season and he might just be able to add another dimension to De Jong's game.

To be fair... I have always said that NDJ is the man to bring on when we're trying to close out or hang on. He needs another dimension to his game, he is a good tackler, but not a great defender.. if you can see my logic. And he certainly doesn't offer anything on the attack lol...

I'm not convinced that mancini rates him? Mariga Mcdonald & Fernando Gago were almost signed in january. That tells me that NDJ is on the fringe mate..

He's played most matches under Mancini, who in January, bemoaned his lack of central midfielders - hence of chase for Gago/Mariga/Flamini.

The fact we've actually tried to keep him off the pitch the last two games shows just how "important" Mancini believes NJD to be.

I havent seen any evidence to suggest otherwise.

Fantastic news. Given he can play RB or CB this looks like one of Richards or Onuoha will probably have to leave this summer.

Probably Micah. Possibly Spuds. If that happened, it would be very interesting to see what the difference was between what we pay HSV and what we get from 'Arry (or any other third party).

Jerome Boateng has been getting rave reports from many sources including the German correspondent of "World Soccer" over the past 12 months.

Sami Hyypia is the best defender in the German league this season, while Boateng isn't even ranked among the top 20 according to Kicker ratings (who gives ratings for every player after each game).

Ryan Giggs won PFA player of the year, starting only 9 games.

Hope this one comes off.

All i've heard is positive things about this lad.

And who cares about lists?

Subotic isn't on that list and people were going wank crazy over him in the summer. oh and another thing about lists. Amir Zaki was ranked the best striker in the world on one wasn't he? The same Zaki that cant get in the Hull team.

i supported richards throughout all the abuse from posters on here but he just doesn't seem to be improving at the rate he should
he's postionally poor, he blames others for his mistakes, jogs around the f'in place and has his head up his arse most of the time

apart from that he's class! time to let go i think

It's a ranking system on how well they have done this season in the German league. Here is the ranking, with Subotic at 15th and Boateng at 21st among the defenders.

The problem with Richards is that he's not a footballer. He demonstrates precisely what is wrong with the youth system in England; you can make it tot he top if you simply have the physical attributes i.e. pace and power, with very limited technical ability.
