Re: Jerome Boateng has signed from HSV- NOT official.
SSN Update:
Hamburg have confirmed that star defender Jerome Boateng will leave the club this summer.
Boateng is a long-term target for Manchester City and reports have emerged suggesting a deal was already done for the 21-year-old.
And now Hamburg have confirmed that Boateng has informed them of his intention to leave the club at the end of the season.
Boateng is not out-of-contract at the Nordbank Arena - but he does have a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for a set fee, believed to be around £11million.
And the German international is set to take advantage of the clause allowing him to leave.
"Jorg Neubauer, the agent of Jereme (Boateng), has given us information that Jerome is planning to make a transfer (to another club) this summer," spokesman Jorn Wolf told Sportinformationsdienst

-- Tue Apr 13, 2010 1:42 pm --

ex MEN:
Hamburg have denied that they have agreed a deal with City for the transfer of highly-rated defender Jerome Boateng.
Reports in Germany on Tuesday suggested the 21-year-old is on his way to the Blues and while Hamburg refused to confirm whether that was the case, they did admit the Berlin-born defender is set to quit the club in the summer.
A Hamburg spokesman told www.bundesliga.de: "Jorg Neubauer, Jerome Boateng's agent, has informed us that the player wants to move. There is no deal agreed yet, however."
Boateng joined Hamburg from Hertha Berlin in 2007 and has emerged as one of the leading defenders in the Bundesliga, making 71 appearances for the club.
He made his international debut in the key 1-0 World Cup qualifying win against Russia in October, although he blotted a composed performance with a 69th-minute red card.
