He's got at least as much talent as Sterling IMO. This is a player who played in a WC Final for arguably the best squad in WC history.

I love him for this alone:

Why isnt he showing his ability these days. Hes not in the same league as Sterling at present.

No, no no. He's never had half the talent Sterling has. He was at his best a really useful and effective player at the top of the game, but to say he was as talented as Sterling is hilairous - and I'm one of Navas' biggest fans.

Deserves a mountain of credit for performing the role Pep has asked of him in recent games. It's obviously not a natural fit but boy is he giving it a red hot go. Says a lot about his professionalism. Not sorry he came to City. I like him. His lack of goal threat is a serious problem for a winger though. Hadn't seen much of him before he came to City. Did he score goals consistently before his time here?

Don't think he was ever prolific. He did strike up a great partnership in Spain with Negredo which was carried over to a limited extent into the first half
of the last league winning campaign. A good solid squad player which every club needs. His poor finishing and inconsistent crossing has cast him as a bit of
a hate figure among certain sections of the fan base though.

Thanks for that. Agree he's the type of player every squad needs as evidenced by him doing his damnedest to fill a role completely foreign to him, even though he knows his time at the Club is coming to an end. It's no accident that his time at the Club has resulted in trophies won.

The hate figure thing is unfortunate and seems to be something that is growing by the day with any player that is either out of form or stuffs up or just doesn't do what an armchair expert thinks they should be doing. Personally would never hate a City player (or a player of any club really, they're just doing their job), but I will admit to the odd bout of swearing. Not just with this guy. Fans caring, ain't it lovely?

His celebration and rallying of the fans after he scored his penalty at Wembley in the final last season really endeared him to me. He's been frustrating the last couple of seasons but for someone with well known home sickness and anxiety issues, he has been a good servant for the last few years.

Remember that. Always said Navas had loads of guts and he proved it that day.

Been fantastic at right back,he moves up the field so quickly and links the team well. A frustrating winger who should have attacked his man more often but he's proving his worth just now.

This might sound controversial, but I think he deserves an extension based on his performances at RB. He is so new to the position but he is the perfect candidate, fast, has stamina, can put in a cross every now and then. As a winger he has to score and he sucks at that, but he is great at RB.
