Jesus Navas

What will Pep do? People see he took a young Kimmich and made him an international or turned a world class full back in Lahm and made him a midfielder and think he can turn water into wine.

I'm not aware of him turning a 30 year old from a decent if not quite good enough player into a world beater.

Navas wouldn't need to double or even treble his goal scoring tally he would need to up it at least 7 or 8 fold. No chance.

I've no cross to bare with Navas but he isn't good enough.
Echoes my thoughts, unless Guardiola has plans to play him in another position where his lack of end product might be less of an issue.

Perfectly stated. Navas isn't going to get better. He simply can't get better -- that much is very clear. With Nolito coming in, we need a winger to go. My vote is Navas (even if they play on opposite sides). If he stays for one more season and provides depth, I'm fine with that, but there are squad limitations that need to be considered and at his age and with one year left on his deal (and his clear limitations), I see no benefit to keeping him around.

lol. seen it all now. let me help you out.
kolorov
mangala
ottimendi
delph

get the picture yet?

Just going to completely ignore the words "one of" before the bit you bolded?

Delph is a completely different scenario. He certainly isn't first choice, he doesn't play when others are fit and is different further still seeing as he's homegrown. Both of Otamendi and Mangala wouldn't play in our best side, only one currently would but we're seemingly in for another defender anyway to replace him and it's been 50/50 with regards to Kolarov being first choice.

Additionally, i'd add, the defence can still for now hide behind us not really being able to judge them under Pellegrini's interpretation of defending. Navas on the other hand has no such excuse, His record speaks for itself, I think i'm right in saying Navas played the most minutes last season for us and was very clearly first choice on the right. the ones you mentioned either aren't 1st choice or won't be before the start of the season so yes he should be ONE OF the first to be replaced. Replaced doesn't necessarily mean sell either.

If Navas played for somebody else and was linked with a move here we'd all think Txiki had lost the plot, he's simply not good enough to be a starter for us regardless of how much effort the guy puts in. Anybody that values effort enough to overlook a lack of quality needs to get with the times and realise we're a club that competes and wins trophies nowadays and effort alone isn't enough.

problem is we have quality, real quality, sadly last season they couldn't be arsed. give me a grafter with a bit about him every time.

No league goals in 2 seasons for a winger playing regular is astonishing regardless of workrate. Can you name any other wingers putting those numbers up?

So if he isn't scoring if he's making them then that's acceptable. But his assists number are fairly average as well.
