Yep and he's getting singled out for something that was symptomatic of the entire squad under MP.But this thread is about Navas not how we played under MP
His first season under MP he regularly beat his man and got to the byline after that his confidence went and cut back/passed back far too often. Not surprised he ended up playing right back.
He was a winger who scored four goals in over 120 apps, he’s not getting singled out he just didn’t do himself justice, if all the squad played like Navas (after his first season) we would’ve created and scored little.Yep and he's getting singled out for something that was symptomatic of the entire squad under MP.
Wingers don't have to score goals to be good.He was a winger who scored four goals in over 120 apps, he’s not getting singled out he just didn’t do himself justice, if all the squad played like Navas (after his first season) we would’ve created and scored little.
I liked him, he just lost confidence in himself. In one of his later seasons for us he created more goal scoring opportunities than anybody else in our team throughout the season. I remember sky sports doing a piece about chances and he had created more than even David Silva had, they just wasn't being taken. The amount of brilliant crosses he put in and nobody was in the box was unbelievable, he literally created chance after chance every game he played, people just didn't like him.
Yes they doWingers don't have to score goals to be good.
Why?Yes they do
Obvious....create and scoreWhy?
What's the primary responsibility of a winger?
Name me the last good winger that only scored one goal a seasonYes they do
