Jimmy & Joe To Sign New Contracts

The money players have taken out of the club you would think they would at least give the club a chance to get something out of their investment in them, The club has vastly overpaid them over the length of their contract the least they could do is sign a deal and then let us get a pre negotiated fee for them. But I'm afraid the the greedy fuckers want it all !!

I see both sides here if im honest.

For me though he should sign his deal, make sure we get a fee for the lad.

Bang on the money.

He would be incredibly stupid to do that. As a free agent a club can take him on without any transfer fee and he'll be a cheap signing for them and as such he'll be able to request a large signing on bonus and higher salary than he would be able to command if there were a transfer free.

He may be boring but I doubt he's stupid.

Fernando and Porto have done it so why shouldn't City be any different with good ole Jimmy.

strange how some believed he would play for nothing just to get a game. Like all the rest his agent pulls the strings and the puppet on the end does what he's told. If there was any chance of him signing he'd have done so long ago. As long as his replacement doesn't come from the Portuguese league we'll be ok!

Maybe he was offered something by Porto to make it worth his while to sign a new contract.

If Milner can go on a free he will no doubt get a multi-million pound signing on bonus and a high weekly salary as there is no transfer fee involved. If he signs a new contract and a club has to buy him for say 15M , they are unlikely to offer him such good personal terms.

That's why clubs usually try and renegotiate contracts when the player is only halfway through the last one.

Fernando was given an ultimatum by Porto. They said sign contract extension and you would get your move in the summer and maybe a place in the World Cup or don't sign and play in the reserves for the rest of the season. It didn't help him with getting into the Portugal national side but it did get him a move to City and with £12m going into Fc Porto's pockets.

Even David Moyes (at the rags) wouldn't have paid £15m for Jimmy.

Jimmy is a good solid pro who had done well for us (in the last two years) and in return we have made him an even richer bloke whose exceeded 50 England caps.

It wouldn't surprise me if he went for between 10 and 15 if he still had a few years left on his contract.

I suspect he got a sizeable sum for signing his new contract with Porto with them knowing they would recoup more than that when selling him to us 4 months later. Maybe we'll come to some similar arrangement with Milner.

I am hoping our young Portuguese lad, Lopes, replaces him.
