I note that MotD match commentary, Jo being a City player, was a factual point avoided!! Not even a mention that he was on loan, but they DID mention what a decent start to his Everton career, it was!!

And, by the way, what's this utter tosh that Jo is too 'lightweight' for the Prem?? Utter rubbish! The boy played exactly the same as he had at City, except the passes came off today, the ball seemed to be played into his feet a lot (it was in the air a hell of a lot from us!) AND he had more support than what he usually had for us when pressing towards goal!
Absolutely right Bigga. Our kind of football does not suit players who play football on the floor, Elano, Jo and Robinho etc.
It's horrible to watch but it is very effective at upsetting better teams and very difficult to beat if Hughes gets it right.

Without being dismissive, i thought it was on the floor a hell of a lot yesterday and a lot of the interplay was fantastic. It just needed more goals to cap it off.
i think you'll find the absence of Dunne has quite a bit to do with it.

I understand you're not being dismissive, but let's be honest, when Jo was playing for us, the ball was banged up in the air for him, a HELL OF A LOT, just cause he's tall!! When the ball was played into feet, i thought he always showed his skilled intentions, but they didn't come off a lot and he lost his confidence and the 'fans' got on his back.

I'll tell the shocking stark difference I notice watching the Toffees' fan reaction to Jo... They applauded... APPLAUDED every good lay off move he did, every tight turn and controlled lay off!

It was shocking to hear as we just take these things for granted!

I am sure this has been said earlier in the thread but, I am so pissed off that we put one of our strikers out on loan to a direct rival and then he goes and scores two and makes one!!!!! I thought his goal was genius, Taggart mark two will be leaping for joy, what a deal, they will get goals from him,Jo(ke) should have been loaned out abroad end of, his goals for them could stop us getting 6th place!

PS like everyone I thought Jo(ke) was a sack of shite for us but the pressure or MH did not help.......

This.

I agree he needed a run of games to see if he can find his feet, and a loan was the right thing for him and City. But, he shouldn't have been loaned to one of our rivals. It just makes no sense whatsoever.
I just hope that if he does have a succesfull run at Everton, but still doesn't fit into Hughes's plans we don't allow him to sign for them. Pure spite? Yeah.....

Apologies if this has been posted already on this thread, but at 10am on a Sunday morning with a hangover after a cracking gig last night, simply I can't be arsed trawling through 28 pages og hysterical Evertonians claiming he is the messiah.

Agreed but we know the reason behind the long ball at the start of the season. MH inherited some absolutely garbage players from the last three managers and had to firstly get results and secondly find out about his players and thirdly get them playing his way. We all know the pressure from the first point was almost unbearable, especially if you go off the reaction from some on here and MH was on a hiding to nothing and his association with the rags didnt help with a lot of numpties. Also our abundance of very good midfielders didnt help with Jo being asked to play on his own up front, but if he was in yesterdays team he might well have bagged a couple in a City shirt.
As for the booing and moaning about Jo from City fans......I dont believe a lot of them know the slightest thing about the subtleties of football apart from City should win every game. At least up till this season it was just discussion on whether or not a certain player was good enough with most wishing the best for that player because they were in a City shirt.

Mm.. I'll agree with most of your points, but I'll not take your point on the high ball situation and blaming it on 'garbage players'!! as when you really think about it, we were playing to feet under Sven's ward. Why did that change? Well, I think Hughes has gotten to learn that the players are not great at the high ball, eventually.

A completely ludicrous decision to loan him to a Premier league rival in Everton.Stupidity and poor judgement of the highest order.

If he goes there, scores goals and does well, our own player contributes towards keeping us out of the top 6 and Europe.
Also makes Hughes' man-management and coaching ability look absolutely shocking to our owners.

Baffling.

At the start of the season we played some nice football, but the second half we were worse than the start of this season. When Sven lost his way the football became shocking and that was mostly the same players we started this season with.

UTTER GARBAGE INDEED!! for a side that finished top 10, that must make a Sven a miracle worker.

All MH has done is replace a top 10 side with a few additions top 6 for a team of cloggers who might finish top 10 again all to the tune of £125m

As regards to Jo it just shows how the right manager can get the best of a player with potential

It doesn't always have to be someone's fault. Things just work out this way sometimes. Who's to say if it had been the other way round, he wouldn't have come into our side with a new leash of life and made an impact? Some of the posts on here act as if this is an exact science.

That's true to an extent-but surely you minimise the risk of shooting off your own foot by not loaning a player with a point to prove to an immediate rival in the same league?
Could you imagine ferguson or Wenger loaning a player like Bendtner to Liverpool or Chelsea?
Or us?

It's not exactly rocket science.
