I think we won it despite some of his very dodgy defending...I never rated him defensively...good going forward but a terrible defender...id rather have Ake, Gvardiol, Delph, Akanji or Zinchenko at left back when it comes to defending than Cancelo...Lets not rewrite history here and just forget that he had a huge part to play in several titles he won both as part of the team and individually. It went sour at the end but he was a mainstay in the team for very good reasons.

He was an improvement on Mendy but Mendy was the worst defenders Ive ever seen in this modern era and thats ignoring all the off the field stuff

Wouldn't say no to bringing him back if he's willing to get his head down. Think there's a role for him as a utility midfielder, defensive winger type. Threw a wobbly during the treble season for some reason but before that he was a capable enough defender and a real threat in attack - he played a big role in us winning the title in 2021 and 2022.

But rules are rules and if they agreed to a loan with City and a view to signing him then he has to sign, City helped them out with the Cancelo loan because FFP rules that they could not afford the fee until a later date.
Barcelona still owes us £20million for Torres and now fucking about with Cancelo and the £40million fee.
