An absolute refreshing change to have some well constructed discussion. It's been a while. I agree with both of you, as Andrew said, Walker is some way off becoming the best RB in the world but he is solid and his pace is a real asset to the team and how we play. Is Cancelo an upgrade on Walker though? I don't believe so and is it worth spending on a backup when we have a very good back up with Danilo already? Seems like we'd just be pissing in the wind on this transfer
 
Honestly I'm glad this one has popped up. We absolutely need a player with top notch delivery on the right hand side. For all their qualities, Sterling, Danilo and Walker don't have the quality of delivery to take full advantage of the wide spaces when they open up on the right in the same way that Sane and Mendy can on the left. For me signing a player like Cancelo would be like signing an extra attacker. The essay version of my reasoning is in the Riyad Mahrez thread.

Yeh just read it good post i noticed our over reliance on sane in quite a few games.like you said cancelo could be the answer.

When was the last time we bought what people would class as a "worldie" - serious question btw??
Robihno? Toure? - no neither
Aguero would probably be the one - even then I don't think at the time he was a "worldie"
I'm trying to understand if your point is "We don't splash the cash", or "we don't have a World class squad". Either way 3 recent titled suggests we're doing something right.
