Joao Cancelo

There doesn't seem to be any indication that Danilo is at all close to being sold, and given that we literally don't have room in the squad without that I'm skeptical this is close either. His wages must be crazy, I can't figure out any other reason why it would be difficult to shift him along.

Walker always looks to me like the glaring weakness in the side. Apperently Pep doesnt see it that way, and hes a hell of a lot more qualified than me. That said I'm not sure why Cancelo wants to come here at all. Danilo regularly outplayed Walker to my eye, and he was never rewarded with a substantial run of fixtures.

Cancelo seems to be something completely different to both walker and Danilo. He'd add another dimension to our game when breaking teams down.

Reports are saying we tried to include him in the deal but juve are not receptive to that

Asked one of my friends that is a big Juve supporter and watches all their games about Cancelo, he wrote this:

”Would have never let him go if it was for me, he started off last season as the best player in the team, struggled abit after the injury though.... he’s abit shakey in defense, cost us some goals last year, especially the one against ajax, but offensively he’s one of the top 3 full backs in the world in my opp. Fast, good dribble, always on the overlap and one hell of a crosser!! If he can improve in defence, he’ll be the best in his position al around!”

Sounds promising!

Sounds a bit like Mendy.

It's funny, apparently Sarri doesn't want Danilo or Cancelo but wants Trippier, (as does Inter?), a player that would be club trained for us!
Maybe we should get Trippier and that would leave us more freedom to fill CB with a less costly better player? ;-)
