So what's the craic with this one now then?

Has he unpacked yet or should he wait?

We did it at LB. I personally don't think that in a Pep team that a "proper" CB is somehow more important than a "proper" LB.
Of course it is,most teams in the prem put endless balls in the box, some play on the break,we play a high line and an ancient dinho isn't getting back,it's all about positioning which the player who is a specialist in that position does without thinking,we got lucky with LB stand in's,there is no reason tto think we will get the same luch, danny looks like he is off,ky is hopeless as a CB for england,we have lost vinny and to lose nico if he goes and we don't replace him is stupidity

Is Fernandinho really that much less agile than Nico or Vinny?

If it's all about positioning what makes you think Fernandinho isn't just as savvy?

One thing he will be better at is passing. And we all know how much Pep loves possession. Maybe with even more of it we'll concede less chances overall.

In terms of passing, pace, and indeed heading, I’m quite confident about Fernandinho playing at the back; he wasn’t too bad at left-back when asked. My only reservation would be that he’s been a little impulsive when tackling in midfield, giving fouls away to break up counters, and he’d have to watch that he didn’t do that when the last man. That said, I doubt he’d play at the back against the stronger sides.

We might not have a choice if we pick up an injury

Hope they reach a compromise

When Inter were after Danilo it was reported that he was happy to take paycut, would be weird if not now.

Both sides will probably agree to €25m valuation of Danilo. Can see €30m + Danilo to make it €55m

This still doesn't make much sense to me unless the idea is he's better than Walker and will displace him in the team. I must admit I've never seen him play but most people seem to be talking about him as a back up when we probably have the best back up RB in europe.

I really like Danilo and never thought he got the playing time he should have had at City. But obviously Pep doesn’t trust him as much as Walker. That’s meant Walker playing a lot of minutes and I think someone else to come in and help him out so he doesn’t play so much is a good thing.

I don’t know much about Cancelo but it looks like he’s decent going forward and can also play on the left. I know Danilo can too but obviously Pep doesn’t as he hasn’t played on the left for City since the first months he was here.

The other thing to take into consideration is Walker’s age. Playing full back at City takes a lot out of you and Walker is 30 this season. I know it isn’t ancient but could be a factor!

I'm very much over the idea that there's such a thing as a full back that can also paly on the other side. They're always a disappointment! That said, we have more than enough cover at LB so I wouldn't let cancelo's ability to play there be a deal breaker anyway.

In all seriousness though, I agree with you on Walker. I just think for the amount we're spending we should be looking for someone who will be first choice. It's a lot to spend on someone to just help out or offer a different option (which is what people are saying he is). Maybe there is a bigger plan for him if we're pursuing him this much. I feel like we have a bigger need for a CB to be honest but maybe Pep trusts Fernandinho to step in or Garcia to step up.
