Joao Cancelo

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici spent several hours in London yesterday. He was dealing with the Joao Cancelo/Danilo transfer as well as deals involving Manchester United - specifically a Dybala/Lukaku swap and Mario Mandzukic. [@romeoagresti]

this is moving along well i see

he is good source for juve

I imagine City would much rather see who's available for around £50m in January than throw £85m at Maguire. It makes us look weak, shows that we're desperate and we end up with a player who doesn't even get in our best starting XI. We can make do for half a season without another CB.

Shopping in January won't be cheaper than it is now and should anyone emerge who is deemed good enough for us then their price will instantly sky rocket.

If City have watched Maguire enough to deem that he has the qualities to succeed here then I don't have a massive problem with the price. It's top end but if they genuinely think he's good enough then so be it. Would rather they pay over the odds for someone who will make it here than pay £40m for someone who plays as little as Danilo and then get's shipped out at a loss 2 years later having never made an impact.

interesting.

They are getting a great deal imho.

Hopefully, we are getting a very good player.

Manchester City’s offer for Cancelo is £27m plus Danilo. City value Danilo at £27m. [Gazzetta dello Sport]

hmmm.....seems fine

Tuttosport is Turin based, and quite reliable when it comes to Juve news - That's what my Juve supporter friend says at least

This guy better be good because I find out eagerness to get rid of Danilo rather odd

I also found it odd at first but it’s becoming more clear to me. I was wondering why Pep doesn’t play him more but there must be a good reason.

I think it’s because Danilo simply doesn’t challenge Walker. Offensively he doesn’t stand out, defensively either. Scores the odd goal and assists here and there but the numbers speak for themselves. Mendy had 5 assists in 10 games last season. Danilo has 4 assists in his last 3 seasons (league only).

Defensively, he’s not as good as Walker who imo is a rock and frequently pockets top wingers.

Danilo is a good player but isn’t great.

Haven’t seen much of Cancelo but from what I hear from people that watch a lot of Serie A he’s really good going forward and was a former winger. His numbers don’t stand out but Juve aren’t an attacking team. It is clear though he’s an excellent dribbler and is still young.

They reportedly want £41m + Danilo.

I can’t profess to know much about Cancelo but Danilo must be valued at over £20m in today’s market.
