I saw him chucking stuff at the coaching staff, he was also pulling faces behind Brian Kidds back then retreating into his coat quickly as if nothing was going on.

Not much in it I know and Richards and Lescott seemed to be involved too, but I thought straight away, completely unproffessional and unlikely to endear himself to Pellers.

Casillas in Jan please.

Didnt see it myself but read similar stuff myself and I agree that someone needs to take him to one side and tell them all that - on match day at least - this larking about is not acceptable.
There young lads and behind closed doors I hope they enjoy their youth and their careers but match days are not for fooking about.

Oh dear, then maybe that should apply to the fans as well, everyone should sit very quietly in their seat and not utter a sound, just sit and watch the match!!

Sorry but that remark is pathetic, so the TV cameras pick out our subs on the bench having a laugh, that would take up what 30/40 seconds, and the other 89mins20 seconds they are watching the match!!

If you are going to criticise a player for goodness sake criticise his playing ability not his sitting on the bench ability!!

I disagree. It is about conducting yourself in a professional manner especially on match day whether you are on the bench or not. Match day is our shop window so to speak so no sulking or acting the twat by lobbing stuff at the coaching staff. Its about mindset and its about respect. Little things maybe but they do speak volumes.

Difference is, we pay £30-£60 for the privilege of watching the match, the subs are getting paid thousands to sit on the bench - dicking about should not be on the agenda, plenty of other time for them do whatever they want.

IMO Altough I understand your view point, I personally think that seeing them having a bit of fun on the bench is good. We hear of people sulking and sitting there with faces like thunder. We have to remember, these are young lads. A bit of fun (whether it is on match day or not) can only be good for the atmosphere around the club.

As long as they are consumate professionals once they are on the pitch and they put in a lot of hard work when training, then I am happy.

I think it was good to see Hart smiling and not throwing his toys out of his pram for being dropped.

oh my fucking dear. Should the subs be sat with a notepad studying every move?

If they're gradually being replaced by more intelligent and conscientious players paying attention to your competition might be an idea, yeah.

To me this is his problem in a nutshell....he wasn't focused on the game. Even from the bench, he switched off from the game in front of him and got distracted. Last night might have been only messing to some, but to me this spelled out everything wrong with his mentality, and shows he hasn't learned a lesson yet.

Oh for fucks sake. Listen to yourselves.
I'm guessing you've never played a team game before.

Are you a headmaster?

No, I'm just someone who has coached team sports at a high level, been an elite performance specialist and a well certified coach educator. But what do I know.

Then i presume you know the value of;

encouragement rather than petty fault finding
Squad members retaining a personality and not being un-thinking robots
A little light relief from intense pressure
Not hanging players out to dry for fuck all
Not being influenced by outside forces when managing players
Letting players and staff enjoy a laugh together
Not guessing about players mental state without ever having spoke to them?

Did you play?

I understand the concept of those on the fringes staying there due to a perceived lack of interest. Coaching sport I've turned many a time to make a personnel change and the person I'd want would either be too busy chatting or didn't look focused and I'd move on to the next person who did.

Yes I played team sport and I've coached, and coached coaches. I'm not going to get into it but trust me I know a fuckload about getting peak performance out of a group dynamic in team sports, enough to have been flown over to talk to 6000 other sports coaches in my sport about getting the most out of your team through individual buy in to the concept of "team". Anytime I've seen a player act like Hart did, they've been moved on on the basis of it having a negative impact on group focus to your goals. Behind the scenes I guarantee Hart is getting the very best approach by our coaching staff, but come game day he's at work and should conduct himself as such. His persona reeked of not caring as he wasn't involved. You might say I'm basing that off a minute long clip, but if that camera is MP's eyes when he turns around, then he's seeing the same thing-a player not focused on the game that is taking place.

Let me put this to you another way; you've been disciplined for poor performance at whatever it is you do for a living. A co-worker is given an important role you see as something that you should be doing, as your better than this person at the role. However your boss has gone with the other person as he thinks you aren't applying yourself correctly. So you need to get in the bosses good books or you may even lose your job, despite the fact you were so good at it for the last couple of years. In order to fix this, what do you do?Do you keep your head down and focus, or do you sit behind your boss during your shift cracking jokes and distracting all around you? Do you see this as working for you in order to regain your bosses trust?

I said it a few weeks ago he needs to buck up. It's his focus is the route of all his problems and poor decisions. He is a world class keeper on his day. It needs to be every day, and if he applied the correct attitude it would be.

He has by all accounts knuckled down and focussed, training hard to get back to his best.

This is just a bit of light relief between mates which can be seen on a bench at every football game at some point.

Maybe pellers should bring in a no laughing or smiling rule, like Di canio was reported as doing....................it was harmless fun.
