Joe Hart - First Goal ???

I would tend to agree that Joe went on walkabout for the first goal but as balance I would add that he kept the score at 2-0 when they were mauling us for the first 30 mins. It was a collective error to let Liverpool have such a good start. I hope Joe is our keeper for years to come but the only thing that he really, really needs to work on is his distribution. Time and again he seems reluctant to throw the ball quickly ala Nauer and takes a more cautious approach. Then will try and diagonally kick it for Milner (when he's on) or Dzeko to 50/50 challenge- sort of! Result in losing possession. Our team thrive in possession and we need to retain it. This is something that can be worked on and I hope the coaches see it - remember he's only young and already has so much experience, plus he's English and next year we are going to be short of homegrown players.

I thought his distribution has been good lately, he doesn't kick it out of play anymore

Don't know what the fuck he was doing for that first goal. Could have cost us the title this season with his fuck ups and I for one will be very disappointed if he's still #1 going into next season.

Seriously wtf. The goal was kompanys fault. He was fantastic yesterday. He's been brilliant since coming back into the team. Some fans seem to have some issue with hart regardless of what he does

What was his positioning about there ? Just stay on your fucking line you clown and you save it easily. Too many chances, too many mistakes. This isn't a charity anymore. Not good enough you need to go simple. His woeful distribution doesn't help the team either and you will be amazed at the impact a goalkeeper who looks to spring a counter quickly can make when Valdes hopefully arrives in the Summer.

It looked bad, with both Joe and Vinnie in no man's land, and we're tempted to think it was Joe rushing out when there's no need as at Chelsea. I suspect that Vinnie would not have played though in any other game, especially had we had a pacey, mobile replacement, and I think Joe was very aware of this. The third goal showed Vinnie was nowhere near fully fit - he couldn't move quickly enough and sliced his kick, straight to Coutinho. In the 5th minute I think Joe thought Sterling had out paced a struggling Vinnie and came out to narrow the angle. Vinnie certainly never coped with Sterling's twists (Vinnie wasn't turned inside out as the papers say, he couldn't turn quickly enough on his knee) and once the keeper has come he doesn't get the chance to go back, and his view was restricted by Vinnie! A cock up but no-one really to blame. I thought Suarez had played the man (Clichy) and not the ball earlier in the move.

I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought that was a foul and play should have been stopped

The game at home v Bayern was the one when I noticed the big difference - whereas Nauer is a bit of a freak in that he dominates the whole box, he also sets them up within seconds of claiming the ball. I agree that Joe has improved a bit, so it must be something they are working on, but he still has a way to go. I also agree that the posters getting on his back are ridiculous.

Think you have spot on there,we had chances to go infront in this game, dzeko shot and silva stretching for the ball from aguero, and dont forget joe's save from starfish's header..we were on top when manuel made the dzeko/aguero change and in hindsight it for me was the wrong call should have kept it as it was,but these things happen we just move on now to weds and sunderland..

Let's not start with the Hart stuff again. He had 2 seconds at the most to make a decision and that definitely wasn't enough time to realise he had to move back and then actually do it.
Hart was a long way down on the list of reasons we lost yesterday, lets not start the scapegoating again.

Yeah, Hart probably should have stayed on his line for that one. Kompany was there to deal with Sterling and, even though he ultimately wasn't able to, if Hart had been back on his line rather than where he was, the finish would have been far tougher. Hart wasn't the major reason for that goal, Kompany was at fault really (which I'm willing to let slide as his movement was clearly hampered yesterday by his knee injury), but Hart certainly didn't help matters.
