Joe Hart - First Goal ???

It was Hart's fault in my opinion.

Kompany was shielding the goal but for some reason Hart stepped off his line and seemed to go directly behind Kompany leaving Sterling to knock it on to his right and basically pass into an open net.

Kompany should maybe have gone towards Sterling more but Hart made a shocker coming off his line.

Vinnie wasn't shielding the goal when Sterling received the ball, it was only when he recovered did he manage to get his body between the ball and the goal, Hart had already come out to narrow the angle when Sterling receives the ball. Have a look at the replay.

Thats how I saw it too. Sterling came from deep wiht a well timed run. When he received the ball he was clean through. Hart had to come out. Sterling checked and Vinny recovered but Hart had already narrowed the angle.
I suppose he could have backed off at that point but I wouldnt solely attribute the goal to a Hart mistake.

Glory hunting pricks know fuck all about football and now the twats have all jumped on to supporting city.

When I get home I'm going to spell out fuck off in season tickets and post it on here
just to shut up all these unsufferable cunts who think that just because somebody criticizes a City player they must be a glory hunter who supported Chelsea 5 years ago.

PMSL

That would be cool as fuck to see.
Is he home yet?

What keepers out there would be so much better they'd be worth the expense??

All the ones who don't panic, hold their ground, makes themselves big, and trust their defenders.

(I'm not blaiming Hart for losing the match. We scored one goal and that isn't good enough.)

Both Vincent and Joe were at fault. One should have gone to the ball and the other the goal line. It's lack of communication again, it's killed us loads this season. We've conceded goals all over the place and looking back at replays nobody is communicating to each other. Two other big ones recently were Barça at home (Demichelis sending off incident), I counted six players doing something wrong and not one of them communicated with anyone else in the whole of it; and Arsenal away for their goal, this time seven players at fault and none communicating.

all ifs and buts, it did look like sterling was going clean through, maybe hart should have retreated once kompany had covered but at the end of the day sterling was still getting a free shot at goal with hart off his line or not

Exactly, why can't the morons see this? Sterling received the ball goal side of Kompany, Hart as any keeper would do tries to close the angle for Sterling by coming off his line, in the meantime Kompany recovers and positions himself between Hart and the ball, leaving Hart caught in no man's land with no time to get back on his line.

To those criticising Hart, what would you have done in his shoes? You see Sterling bearing down on you after Vinnie got his angles wrong, do you stay on your line and give Sterling the goal to aim at or do you close out the space thus narrowing the angle giving Sterling less to aim at?

Or alternatively I guess you could invoke your powers of clairvoyance and anticipate that Vinnie is going to recover and get back in front of Sterling while he sorts his feet.

Your first part is correct - Hart had to come out. But once Kompany recovers, Hart is standing static directly behind Kompany. He had enough time to back-track into the goal. And even if Sterling had released it quicker, he still would have had more chance than standing in Kompany's shadow. He froze.

And this from one of Hart's greatest fans who feels he hasn't put a foot wrong since he returned to the side.

I also note that he made a fantastic save off a Gerard header when the latter was inexplicably in acres of space.

I don't understand what he was doing for the first goal!! ... Once Vinnie is their he needs to retreat back into his goal, why did he stay out there right behind Vinnie?? In the end I think Hart's totally unsighted and we looked a bit silly!!

Agreed...

He's had a good second half to the season, I don't think it's fair to blame him for this one.
