im struggling to see this being the only reason. even i can move a ball from one foot to the other and then kick it, and if i couldn't i'm sure with a bit of training i could pick that up in no time.

that is not reason enough to get rid of joe. looks like its a smoke screen for the real reason, which (most probably) is his perceived (bad?) influence in the dressing room.

Not really, if he can't do it now comfortably under pressure from top class players then it's likely he'll never be able to learn at his age. I play over 35's and it's the same, when the coach suggests we work on something you know with some players it's a waste of time because they didn't learn or they were no good at the basics when they were young.

Platt said Joe to be replaced. I remember the beginning of next season after Mancini was sacked, Joe not play good. Platt said in the program Mancini planed to replace Joe and if only Mancini still in charge Joe should be long gone.

Edit: this what exactly Platt said
'If Mancini and I were still at Man City this year Joe Hart wouldn't be there. We made a decision to sign Asmir Begovic

Have you by any chance got a vid of Platt saying this? He denied he made these comments after they were reported.

its hard to comprehend how something so trivial cannot be coached into a top class goalkeeper. maybe it was more to do with doing this under pressure, maybe he just didnt have the composure. skill/technique is something that can be drilled into a player given enough effort and time, but composure is something trickier to master.

i still believe it was most probably a combination of all that we have mentioned, when added up they became too much to persevere with for Pep.

3 weeks ago i thought we had a top class goalkeeper who would be the cornerstone of the squad, but now it looks like he is a square peg not fitting into a round hole. he's still top class, unfortunately just not in our system :(

i think the whole point of pep coming in is to change the style not just for the 3 years he's here but for the foreseeable future. Don't think we're going to suddenly change style when pep leaves

Nope.

All the academy keepers are being taught to play out from the back. Pep is setting up City's trademark style for the future & incoming managers will be expected to carry it on.

Sorry maid, I cannot.
I was a TV viewer when he said that as you can see I live in Abu Dhabi (Al Jazeera coverage). This is from my ears and memory.

I suspect Hart's co-ordination and footwork is much better than you make out. Hart could have made a professional cricketer but chose football. You need excellent timing and footwork to be a pro-cricketer. Even Pep said Hart can learn to do what he wants but it would take time.

Maybe Hart has had a perceived attitude problem accepting manager's instructions? He is not short of confidence and perhaps Hart showed reluctance doing what the manager has told him to do?

I suspect Pep decided to get rid of Hart before he came to the club. I would be surprised if there were any City fans that genuinely think Willy is a better Keeper than Hart.

I wonder if Hart was City number one under Pep, whether persuading Bravo to come would have been so smooth?

I do feel sorry for Hart who didn't want to leave. The trust and relationship between Hart and Pep has probably broken down now? I think the matter could have been handled much better. Hart is still a very good keeper who could have improved significantly under Pep, even if he was number 2 to Bravo.
