Are you saying you prefer to have Willy in net rather than Joe?
IMO Pep dropped Joe to make it crystal clear to prospective incoming keepers he wanted a new number one at City because Joe didn't meet his requirements.
For the way we now play yes. Not because I don't think Hart could possibly play the ball to feet but that I don't think he thinks he should. Arsenal and St Johnstone told Pep all he needed to know.
Pep's been very clever here. I believe Hart is 100% out but the way he's phrased it, people will say "Well he gave Joe the choice but obviously he didn't want to stay and fight".
Absolutely. He's a clever man.
But my point/question is - does Joe give the ball away more than Willy, especially if he is instructed to pass it out ?
Yes. From what has been witnessed so far and him not being No1 tomorrow is further evidence. There's not a chance Pep think Willy is the better 'traditional' keeper. But Pep has spent the last month and a half with them and seen them both in training and spoken with them both at length.
Where does the 10% more come from ? 10% more possession is quite a lot.
Yet to be convinced that we will have that much extra possession as a result of Willy instead of Joe
10%/7%/15% matters not. A keeper hoofing it forward and losing possession more often than retaining it will have a major bearing in possession stats and everything that follows each loss of the ball.
