I don't. I think he will consider his position untenable

Which shows where his loyalties lie. He's essentially going to quit without putting up a fight because he's more concerned about losing his England shirt than staying at City.

This is the first time since taking over in 2010 that he'll not be guaranteed a game every week. We all know Pantilimon and Willy were never going to take the number 1 shirt long term.

Pep even said he'd still play if he stays.

"If they end up with 10% more possession with Hart in goal" - that's the part I am struggling with

Iff a keeper kicks it long all the time you give away a lot of possession, you never see the goals we don't concede, it's like the Milner affect. Good managers see it most fans don't.

He either can't or won't.
His distribution is poor regardless of the style of play.
He doesn't appear to have developed in recent years.

There is an element of truth in this. On his day Hart is world class as we have seen but his weak spots, shots down to his left hand side and distribution have not improved at all. His good points outweigh his bad ones though and that is why he is still here and still England's number one. Obviously under the new manager his ball control and distribution are vital so the choice is stark and clear. Improve them or move on.

I would be sad if he leaves as he has been fantastic for us and comes across as loving the club but fan's favourites do come and go as the club evolves and Hart is no exception.

I do feel there is other underlying reasons also that maybe have been developing in the last couple of years that Pep is aware of and as with Toure and Nasri, he is culling them and making a big statement into the bargain.

I presume the people saying stoke will be pissing themselves if we play willy are the same ones thinking Liverpool would piss the carling cup....
Are you saying you prefer to have Willy in net rather than Joe?

IMO Pep dropped Joe to make it crystal clear to prospective incoming keepers he wanted a new number one at City because Joe didn't meet his requirements.

I might be cynical in this, but I think Pep has been smart in transferring the heat away from himself by publicly stating Hart is welcome to stay if he is happy to learn to play my way. Personally, I think Pep knows deep down Joe will not be our number 1 whilst he is in charge, but the media can no longer say he is forcing Joe out as he has offered him an olive branch.

I think Joe will be gone soon.

Hart is coming into the primetime of his career age wise. Outfield players can fight for a place in the team, goalkeepers don't really get the opportunity. I don't think lack of fight comes into it the manager has made it clear by his actions that he doesn't fancy Hart by playing Caballero. His words at the press conference are a bit of a sop basically to say Hart is a good guy and a decent keeper but no goalkeeper in his prime will want to stay at a club where the manager regards him as second choice.
I don't blame Pep he is paid to make tough and unpopular decisions and that is his call but to say Hart has no fight is nonsense.

This. Big difference between being a 2nd choice keeper on the bench to being an outfield player on the bench.

i think he's more concerned about going from playing every week to rarely playing. which is fair enough
